We lost my mother in March of 2020. (Not COVID related; she was 96.) My brother was her caregiver and was devastated. He's been a great support for me, but I worry about him because he loved my wife almost as much as I do. I actually had to comfort him the other day. My daughters have been my rocks. My son-in-law told me that she was more of a mother to him than his own mother.
I found her life insurance policy in the file cabinet this afternoon and almost lost it. She knew how sick she was in 2014 and bought the policy after she retired and lost her company insurance. It won't be enough to cover our debts, but it will make things easier and I can give the girls and grandkids some cash if they'll take it.
Thanks to all for the "positive waves."
