Looking for honest opinions from fellow wheel gunners on making a move to a more gun friendly state in the future. The wife and I are in the early planning stages.
This is what I have so far:
Living in New York means pretty much everywhere else has a better gun owning environment ( except maybe nj ca and mass)
So we are looking for:
1)Much better weather ( we have sort of narrowed our search to Texas Arizona Nevada due to the warm weather and low humidity )
Some of you guys from Texas gotta stop bragging how great it is there or all of the North East is going to come and i'm gonna be stuck here in upstate n.y. alone![]()
As we say, "Ft Worth is where the west begins, Dallas is where the east peters out".
If you come to Texas take a close look at Ft. Worth. Carswell AFB for your needs, decent weather and a laid back attitude, real western place.
Avoid Dallas, it is a pretentious town that wants to be like NYC.
I have found it easy to ignore the Cowgirls but the Rangers are easy to take.
San Antonio area and hill country area, stay away from socialist Austin. I had a realtor down there tell me Austin tends to have high real estate taxes, no doubt to liberal dominance.
We would have moved down there but we're too old now and want to be by kids and grand kids.
