INTERNET SNUBBY MATCH

I just did this, but forgot one minor detail - that it was supposed to be shot with *just* the weak hand. Sigh. I shot them all two handed, with the left hand.

Shot two loads through my 3" 13-3, and one through my 642-2. Surprisingly, I shot my little jframe much tighter than the 13-3.

May get out and try again.

Post pictures of your practice targets and guns anyhow.

Well, I shot strong hand....dammit. Fwiw I shoot about the same weak handed, but it's not a winner either.

Colt Cobra, 130gr ball @ 7yrds rt handed.

Thank you for joining.

So far you are in the lead. Colt beat smith in this case. Hmmmm.

Much better shooting conditions today, shot at my local bullseye range in Kenmore, WA. Bittersweet in many ways.
Ammo was factory new Black Hills wadcutters .38sp, gun was my L frame Airlite 7 shooter, model 242.
I actually shot 11 rounds, shot a cylinderful of seven, then loaded in 4 more instead of three. My brain sometimes....
Best effort ever to date for me, aside from the 14-3 and Officers Match.
Range master signed it, since I figured many would think I'm FOS getting an 11 shot sub three inch group at 25yrds with a DAO Airlite .38 snubby. I didn't rest it off anything, but did lean my hips against the bench for some stability.
Anyways, this one's for Ted. May God bless and keep you.

I tried also with my Rossi DAO .44sp and a few loads, but it barely held black with Gold Dots. Tried Cowboy loads and they were better by a bit, but I threw one wide and spoiled an already mediocre group. Definitely a S&W day. Those BH wadcutters are no joke in either the Colt Cobra or 242.

I'm hard-pressed to get groups like that with my 6" model 14-3 or Colt OMM. It's not a normal thing....it's also the first time I've ever shot WCs through the 242.
The long standing head Rangemaster had passed away just a few days prior, then I step up and shoot this group. This was after shooting a really nice five shot group a few weeks earlier with the Colt Cobra. Then, I can't come near those the other day with three different guns, soooo...
I recognize a lot of people would doubt such a claim without seeing it themselves, or thinking a different gun was used, but it really happened. I just hope I can do it again.:D

OK... Need to liven this thread up with some comedy relief.

10 shots, as instructed.

With this entry, altho it's the first for March, I cheerfully surge into last place. My son and I got to the range today, had major fun, and continued to break in my new Kimber 1911, and to contribute to the powder shortage. I also took my wife's Ruger LCR.

I gave it this one try, and with the results shown, I returned it to the range bag and resumed having fun with the 686 and the K.

:D:D:D

Snubbies require a lot more dedication to the fundamental stuff like consistent grip, trigger press and PERFECT sight picture. They exaggerate any imperfections.:D

Harley fan, you are in first place so far this month.

Thanks for keeping the spirit of the game.

I am in soon.

David

Since we've bonded, I used the 242 again today.

I made two efforts using HSM plated reloads, 158gr flat points. I kept the first try since I discovered later I only shot eight times on my second effort.
The pictured Magtech ammo was for another 50ft match.

There are 10, 3 holes are siamesed.

I didn't bother with measuring this. Just got out and shot with my daughter. She didn't want to try the double tap game. Had trouble making decent groups with the snubbies doing double taps. Fun to try, though.
