Is spring here.?

About ten days ago I would have said yes, but Mother Nature has decided to show us who's boss. Was 73°F on Saturday, but this morning there was a skin of ice on the birdbath. Supposed to be even colder tonight with snow possible Thursday night.

The stupid flowering cherry trees are coming out already, but I think our peach tree is dead as there are no buds to speak of. Think the previous owner planted it too close to the house.

Spring rains here in the Midwest is melting all the snow causing a large area of flooding ..

2 inches already and more on the way .. freezing rain/sleet on the back side .. as Old Man Winter isn't ready to let go ..

It was supposed to get up into the mid 70's today. My wife and I planned to go for a hike over the local mountain ridge. I have a new pair of boots in need of breaking in.
When we left the house it was 84 degrees, by the time we got to the top of the ridge, the remote temperature sensor sent a message to my Garmin GPS watch that it was 92 degrees.
More like a nice summer day today.
We ended up going 4.89 miles.
Tomorrow we're planning on going for a nice bike ride on the C&O Canal Towpath.

78 yesterday . . .

34 for the high today. Even got a bit of snow early this morning. It melted as soon as it hit the ground, but still. Right now it's 24. Supposed to be in the upper 60s by Friday, 50s tomorrow.

Maybe winter's last hurrah, or maybe not.

Any time you can use your truck A/C in February is a great winter in my mind. All of the snow that fell Saturday night is gone and the piles that were still around from past storms will not last long.

It will be 67 here today and the only cold day will be Friday when it falls to 38. After that the next week is projected to be in the 40's and 50's. March is a week away so I feel that the worst is over. We may get snow again but I doubt that it will last long.

The older that I get the more that I don't enjoy the cold and snow so a warm February or March is fine with me.

SPRING?

More like direct to summer! 89 Yesterday, the pool hit 82, the same expected today. Record's (plural) broken as far back as recorded. Last years march frost cost me my early garden. Just waiting, trying to decide to plant or not.

In the 60s here in Central NJ. We had about 2-3" of wet snow Saturday night, now it's gone.

Well we are forecast single digit lows for the next ten days and will not get above freezing for a week. I vote no.

Yeah we have some more frost and probably a couple 32s or so, but...yeah spring has sprung in N Al. Nectarine tree..plum...pear...red bud and peach tree blossoms.

I've been seeing Sand Hill Cranes since before VD. Never in 60 years have I seen them before April.

Last week record hi/lo temps! Only time I've ever worn shorts (in Indiana) in February.

Haven't seen any Robins yet though.

We've been getting 3-5 "normal" days of weather then 2-5 days of above "normal" weather. Ground has been thawed for weeks.
