Is spring here.?

We got 70 degrees & sun yesterday, so it's finally feeling like a Texas winter.

The oak in our back yard has started putting out pollen fronds. That is usually the first sign here. When the button bush tree out back starts to leaf out again spring will be in full force. It is one of the last to leaf down here.

From the plant guys it is 50/50 that we have had our last freeze here in Houston. Sure hope they are right! Been a crummy winter for me.

27 here this morning, we will be getting some snow later on in the day, yesterday they were saying 2 to 6", now they are saying 6 to 8", we will see, I've shoveled 17" of partly cloudy before.[emoji46]

Just to let you know, Spring is on the way. Our daffodils are about 6-8" tall, flocks of Robins have been seen, the farmers have their potatoes in the ground already and turtles have been seen in the swamp, sunning them selves. Yesterday it was 70 degrees.

You must be in NC. That definitely doesn't describe WI.

That's what our Oaks do here, They loose their leaves in the "Spring"
Usually a sign that the Snow Birds will be flocking back North again!:D But they always leave a few strays behind.;)

Here in Cincinnati I noticed that my neighbor has tiny yellow flowers poking up through the ground. Going to be rainy and in the 50's up to 70 all this week. Last year this same thing happened. My Silver Maple put out buds the last week of January. Of course the trees always bud early around here, but a late cold spell almost always kills them off.

I wish they would leave more behind, they all seem to end up here.[emoji46]

My personal definition of Spring is far from here yet!

Where I live up in the mountains anything is possible for about 6 more weeks. My Spring hits when all the snow/ice is off the roads and shoulders.

The tons of sand and salt also have to be washed away by mama nature as the highway department hardly ever gets way up here with the sweeper trucks. Its spring to me when the Vette comes out of its hibernation period and goes out on the road!

Yeah, I was starting to think the same thing. We hit mid 50's just over a week ago.

Then we got 4 inches of snow Thursday night - and another 2 inches last night.

It is still snowing this morning and we're supposed to get another 6 inches (possibly more) through tomorrow.

So much for an early end to winter :(

I'm putting a hit on that darned groundhog ;)

Our springs are always cold because of the ocean temp but we have a great fall.

Weather warning for the eastern panhandle of West Virginia.
Snow and sleet expected today.
By Tuesday it's supposed to be 75 degrees and partly sunny. Wednesday's supposed to be 78 and partly sunny.
There's gonna be some hiking and biking next week.

I fished all day Friday and am now sun burned.

The Robins were here last week. I haven't seen them today or yesterday so I guess they're going back north, I wish the rest of the Snowbirds would.

Temps in the low 80s here today. We have had some chilly days but no snow. I'm good with that.

It's (hard) to "like" this post fully knowing what hot humid days lay right just around the corner and straight ahead.:o:o:o And im speaking of South Tejas.
