I've been watching the huge problems with snow and ice in the midwest and the eastern seaboard for some time now, even though spring has sprung.

I often say that I'm glad we live in Phoenix, where our climate in the Winter and Spring are usually ideal, the envy of a lot of people all over the U.S.

I'm often asked the question "Does it ever snow in Phoenix?" In order to answer truthfully, I would have to say that, yes, Virginia. It has snowed in Phoenix.

It was the talk of the town on February 20, 2013. It actually snowed. I commemorated the occasion by photographing the snow on the hood of my wife's car - we had just driven through some falling snow! I'm glad I kept the picture - I will probably never see such a thing again in my lifetime!

To all you folks suffering through foul weather right now, I feel for you. I remember the time...

I live in Scottsdale which is adjacent to Phoenix and I've been here for 22 years. During that time I remember it snowing exactly twice. The McDowall Mountains just East of Scottsdale were covered with snow for a couple of hours!

I have a brother living 45 miles nw of Green Bay, Wi they received 37" of wet heavy snow over a 2 day period, shattered all NWS records ever kept. He just got out of the house to get to the shed for his snowblower...... not sure it will help!

What's next: lions and lambs lying down together or dogs and cats cross-breeding producing cogs or dats?

Maybe someday Smiths will no longer come with forged lockwork and wood grips?

Where I'm from, we don't call that snow, just wet furries!

On tonights weather report, they said we received a cumulative total of 73" this winter. For a semi arid local, that is a lot. Most since the 1940's I believe. Caused significant storage problems for the city.
