Just a nit to pick; it's a magazine, not a clip.
That said, are you following the directions in the manual as regards to loading the magazine? Simply pulling the loading button down and dropping a handful of rounds into the magazine will cause feeding problems most of the time,

So it appears that everyone is telling me to go with the federal. Has anyone used the remington bulk ammo before and had the same probleming with the ammo failing to feed?
That said, there are a couple of different "Federal Bulk" rounds. The red box has 550 rounds and the blue box has 525 rounds. There's a difference, but offhand I don't remember what it is. .
my owners manual is pretty specific as to DO NOT use remington ammo....
Unless your manual is different than mine, the manual doesn't say DO NOT; it says DOES NOT RECOMMEND. The two statements are not synonymous.
Despite the DNR from S&W, lots of shooters here report no problems with Remington, just a lots of folks report problems with Federal.
Each firearm is a law unto itself as to which ammo it likes or doesn't like.
ok...then YOU use the ammo thats recommendedi'll steer clear of it
