Latest Serial numbers on 15-22

I just got mine on 27/1/14 in UK. MOE FDE HBV**** may I ask, do these updates on serial numbers help out any??

Not really. Some retailers may be holding weapons for a long time depending on when they ordered their stock and how quickly they flipped the weapon. So, it's essentially pointless, especially if we haven't identified any run of serial numbers that are problematic.

Congrats on the purchases, though!

“HBY” 2014 January 09 (Online purchase date - USA) Model # 811034 (MOE Version). Guess I missed CCI ART 300rd ammo rebate by 5 days even though it didn’t get shipped out until 22 January & couldn't get it b/c weather until 02 February. It's a real kick in the face & a bummer b/c I still haven't shot it yet. At least I finally have it. Things could always be worse!

I know some say this is a useless thread, but I found a serial # thread on this forum/ borad dealing w/ the S&W H&R .32 revolver very helpful b/c I found out what year my mom’s old backup gun was, etc on there last year.

Long time lurker, recent member, & 1st time poster, although I was about to put a link up 4 available good priced .22lr the other day & today, but somebody had just beat me it...which is good.

This S&W forum/ board has been a very valuable resource/ tool!!!

Why is it so important to know the date of manufacture and latest serial numbers?

It's not. Three of four years ago it would help you know of the FCG/BCG upgrades had been done. Now, the knowledge serves no useful purpose.
