Harrish - do you think the Altamont Polymer and Rosewood cushion your hand as well as the stock rubber grips?
I'm loving my new 638 and would like to dress it up a little, but I read one review of the all wood grips that your hand hurts while shooting. I have an Apex trigger kit in mine, so it's a joy to shoot as is. But like I said, I'd like to gussy her up a bit.
I recently installed these Hogue Tamers; they're built specifically for the centennial frame--covering the entire backstrap. They also extend 0.41" below the frame to make room for a pinky. Makes for a very ergonomic grip that is easy to shoot with (this target was 10 rounds of Gold Dot 135 +P at 7 yards, offhand.)
