M 625- 45ACP roll call

So, if this thread were to stimulate my interest in owning a 625 45 acp(hypothetically speaking, of course) what would be the best way of going about it? Looking on the SW Firearms website, I don't believe they are made anymore. Advertising in the classifieds here, gunbroker.com, something else? And what would be a fair price for one in excellent condition?

This is the only one I own. I shot a friends Mountain Gun and had to have one. At the time these came out so I opted for this version. It's a tack driver and a keeper.

Don't they have gun shows in your area? Check the completed sales on gunbroker to get a good idea on what they are selling for. Also gunshops maybe or pawn shops.

Some simple questions.

Blued?

Stainless?

Nickel?

Fixed sights?

Adjustable sights?

Round butt?

Square butt?

Barrel length?

Heavy barrel?

Tapered barrel?

Full lugged?

Reinforced lug?

No lug?

I think that covers the basics.

As you can see, there are a very great many variables involved in answering your question.

Once you decide what you want, then you can start a search.

And I have a bunch of them, still looking for more!

I have had a 625-4 5" for a couple of years and recently picked up a 625-3 4". It was a GB auction with terrible pics and scanty description so I took a chance with a low bid and won. After a good cleaning and new set of grips, it's quite nice. I may need to find a 3" to complete the 'set'... ;)

Also have a 25-2 Model of 1955 that is a very nice shooter!

I find the .45ACP Smiths to be very enjoyable and practical to shoot. Mild recoil, great accuracy, and easy to keep track of brass. Don't forget to pick up a Mooner tool!!

Recently picked up this 625-3 5", unfortunately no box or accessories, but the price was too good not to grab it...plus the condition and combats just made it a no brainer..

I also have a LNIB 625-3 4" that also has gorgeous combats on it.

Looking forward to shooting this 5" some
