M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

Here's mine that I just got done doing a camo job on.

What paint did you use?

I consider my solid steel 1911 a toy.

Some people use the term "range queen" or "safe queen", I use toy. My 1911 and my 15/22 are dedicated IDPA firearms. They are not used in carry or combat. My 1911 gets a new something about twice a year. Its going in this month for a threaded barrel and a suppressor.

My Glock and my Saiga are my weapons. The Glock and the Saiga both have some mods to them, specifically stippling, 10-8 sights and a light on the Glock and a RDS mount, an H-1, a bullet guide and AK mags for the Saiga. Those are working tools that have been modified to make them the best they can be.

My 15/22 and my 1911 are modified because I can. I've got enough junk for both platforms to probably open a shop of my own. Yeah I have a "working" setup for them both, but that doesn't stop me putting things on them for fun. I don't try justify my fun attachments though :p

That being said the 4 rules are enforced for all guns in this house, real steel, airsoft, paintball, water pistols even those sweety dispensing ones.

To keep things on track :

No idea why I have no stills of it. This is wifey about a year ago.

I love when people try to say anything derogatory towards the 15/22 - I have an AR that cost me X times more than my 15/22 that I love but guess what I shoot about 40x more? I hate the whole "bigger is better" mentality when it comes to any type of guns - I'll keep throwing in 1 of my 8 mags that I barely paid anything for and shoot my boxes of $15 ammo for hours while they reload a single mag and can't afford to shoot for more than 30 min.

I totally agree...I got $3,271.35 in my Colt LE6920... it has seen a total of 120rds so far... my 15/22 with addons cost roughly $800 and has seen 1,200+ rds so far (2 weeks old)... let me tell you that the smile on my face is bigger firing the 15/22 cause i look down in that bulk ammo box and know i didnt use half on my paycheck to go shooting...

Hogue grip
Sight mark reflex sight
Magpul AFG and rail covers
(in the mail: magpul mbus and Belt_fed barrel shroud)

Hows the Sight Mark reflex sight? would you recommend it?

Interim solution... I must get a long enough allen-key to replace the pistol grip with MOE and probably get an RDS.

I put the MOE+ grip on mine and I really like it. It's got a rubber coating instead of hard plastic and a compartment for storage

Man, scrolling through this page, you would have thought that Smith came out with a Magpul AFG edition!

Tx Jajo, I have the MOE+ grip in my draw. It does have a better grip than my std MOE polymer on my AR in .223

Cleaned up the house and decided to grab a few shots of the toy. Plus IBA, ACH, Oakley Pilots, and a Camelbak Armorbak you can just barely see the hose off of.

PapaChop, what sling mount are you using on your M&P15-22?

I got myself Magpul MS3 sling and I am looking for the right mount.

I'm using the MagPul RSA up front - does it's job just fine, kind of wish it wasn't $30 though. Just plugging it into the QD on the stock for the rear. I rarely use it in single-point - pretty much only when I'm going to be shooting around barricades, etc.

Jsimmons

I used Krylon Camo for the base coat and then brushed on Testors Flat military paint for the green splotches and brown and black stripes. I then sprayed Krylon Flat clear coat over top. 4-5 coats.
