M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

Love the strait to the point and simple setup/looks of these two rifles. Great job!

Gopher, That pic is my new desktop backround...Love it!

Thanks. I've got it on one of my monitors too.

Shooting with the irons is way more fun for me right now. I go through phases though. lol

Pretty much done with this. Just got in a few 10rd mags that I converted to 25rd and they worked just fine.

Debating on which suppressor to get now. Figured if I'm going to pay ATF for two other suppressors, might as well just get a 22 suppressor as well.

nothing like a dedicated host for a can. my one is permanent on the 15-22, and 8 mags of sub sonic. makes for great bunny hunting!

although sometimes, at a distance, i watched one of my rounds hit an Antelope Jack right in the side, and it bounced off!!! True story!

Slight Tweak

I've posted a pic of this before, but I made a slight modification that I thought I would share. I made a "fillet" to blend the bottom of the A2 stock to the receiver. The A2 stock sticks below the 15-22 receiver.

I used JB Weld epoxy putty and put some plastic wrap on the receiver before I added the epoxy. That way, the epoxy only bonds to the A2 stock which will allow me to remove it if I want without messing up the receiver. I used 180 grit sandpaper to contour the epoxy. Then I painted the epoxy with Testors flat black paint. I scuffed the paint with 180 grit sandpaper to give it a texture similar to the stock. The epoxy sets very quickly.

The end result blends the stock to the receiver fairly well. This photo isn't the greatest: the flash accentuates the edge of the fillet. In "real life" it's not that obtrusive.

My 15-22

Guys I've already posted pics of my rifle but wanted to show ya'll the new zombie rail guards I bought. I like them and think they add a whole new look from the magpie rail gaurds I had.

Latest incarnation. The Gopro mount made the RVG, which the wife prefers over the AFG, not work with the Viking Tactics and Streamlight light. The solution was a ring mounted Surefire LED with a tape switch. An old school one. I can now C-clamp or thumb break hold it and it works wonderfully. The Aimpoint was put on a center fire rifle so it was replaced with an NC Star holo sight. The 416 grip was replaced with the CAA UPG-16, the wife's preference.

story of this rifle.
well one day I was walking through walmart looking at ammo(this was about 3 years ago when ammo was plentiful) and saw how many rounds of ammo I can get for super cheap in 22LR. So I said to my self I need to get in on this action, started my research on 22LR guns and came across a local guy selling the 15-22 for a excellent price NIB, so I did not hesitate on buying it. this rifle has been and absolute dream to shoot, no malfunctions or problems with the gun, only ammo related issues. So I am very pleased to have bought this rifle. FYI this is not my first gun but first 22lr now I am looking to match it with a ruger rimfire pistol of somesort in the future.

here is the mod list.

finally got in my last couple of parts. A few changes over the years but now it matches it big brother. hopefully I am done modding this thing. I think this rifle is a poster boy for the black rifle modding disease. yes I know it is a lot for a 22lr but once you start you cant stop and its just pure fun.

I want make a shout out to all the companies that put in the time to make custom parts for these excellent plinkers.

Nice pedi care.

Might want to look at a Buck Mark too. I bought the Whisper model (threaded barrel) but also bought the Tactical Solutions Trail-Lite barrel, which is also threaded. All my 22s have threaded barrels in anticipation of my stamp coming in for my 22Sparrow.

From my research both Ruger & Browning make great pistols, however the fact that you can easily remove and ship a Buck Mark barrel ( or purchase an upgraded barrel) without going thru a dealer pushed me to the Buck Mark.

You can match your M&P 15-22 with an M&P 22 . . . .

This is what I am going to use for Ruger Rimfire, if I can find a competition somewhere near that isn't on a Sunday.
