M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

I never said I was going to wait til it was done to shoot it. I just havent had the chance to go yet. Believe me, I am dying to go shoot!

Ive had mine to the local indoor range 4x in the short 30 days ive owned mine and thats limited too 75' and if some people remember my thread was why i had such a hard time sighting mine in.
Spring, Bring it on!
Even at 75' it was no challenge with this gun and my optics, And ive seen people ask about upgraded barrels already. My gun will out shoot me or the .22lr round will be the limit before the barrel becomes an issue.

Who has one of these installed?
TheGunSource: BSA Optics Sights & Lasers BSA Laser Genetics ND3 Green Laser Designator, LG-ND3,

I dont have a "real" use for one but would be cool to have and try.

Here are a couple pictures of how my 15-22 is progressing. I'm still waiting on some more parts to arrive (backorders suck!) but I think it's coming along nicely. Very fun gun to shoot and accessorize!

ok now your top rail is full 3 more to go:D

Stock and sling first, then I'll move on to the other rails. :D:D

I'm also waiting to get the FTS mount in and then I'll probably put the magnifier back on. Hopefully it will sit just slightly lower than the it does with the factory ring because it doesn't quite line up with the scope as is.

What is your bi-pod and what is it's size (max and min. length), also when it's extended how far is your mag from the ground?

It's a Harris 1A2 Bipod. I believe that it's a 6" to 9". It was given to me by my girlfriend's younger brother as he decided he no longer needed it. Score! :) I'm heading to the range again tonight, I'll try and see how far it holds a mag off the ground and let you know.

Awesome, could you also get some pics of it with the it standing on the bi-pod with the mag. and it fully extended?

anyone know how it fits on our 15-22? i read some reviews and they were saying it doesn't fit and others said they had to do some trimming....any suggestions?

I need to post a pic or two, also. As you accessorize, I think you'll be surprised at how "standard" the 15-22 seems to be. I replaced the pistol grip with a Hogue, and the stock pistol grip I removed from the 15-22 looks almost exactly like the stock grip on my Bushmaster M4. Even the same Torx screw. (Others have suggested it is hex, so there may be various screw types being used. )

If you replace the buttstock, note that the 15-22 uses Mil-Spec sized stock (1.15" dia.). My Bushmaster is commercial (1.17" dia.) I put a Magpul CTR on the Bushmaster, and would definitely consider it or the MOE for the 15-22. You should be able to find both sizes for most every aftermarket stock.

I did add a CenterPoint red/green optic, and very pleased so far. Found it at Walmart for $50.

Here you go. With the legs extended and the gun roughly parallel to the ground the mag has about 1.5" - 2" of clearance. I didn't think to actually measure it at the time as I was a bit rushed with the fading light by the time I got to the range so I'm just estimating based upon the pictures.

Awesome, thanks for the pics. That's enough clearance for me. Now I can look for a bi-pod. That really helped my decision.

No problem. Glad I could help.

One note in case you are interested in the Harris Bipods. The one I have attaches to a sling swivel stud so I had to buy one that would attach to the rail. I found one at a local shop that I believe is made by Mako. It seems rather solid and was made to work specifically with the Harris Bipods as the molding fits it perfectly. I haven't looked so I'm not sure if they make a model that will attach directly to the rail but it's something to keep in mind.

I think I am going with the Harris/LaRue quick detach. It's probably the most expensive route, but I can use it on anything with a rail so I can sort-of justify the cost. I don't like the UTG Bi-Pod I am currently using, but it was VERY cheap!

Nice, I might have to pick up that LaRue quick detach mount for mine! Currently I just take the bipod off and leave the mount attached since the bipod removes easily by hand. However, I would really like to be able to remove the whole thing quickly without tools.

Just when you think you're done... there's always another part that you find and want!! :p

Harris Bipod BRM-S and LaRue Tactical LT130 QD Mount

$171.00 Ouch but absolutely SWEET! It's on my To Do list :)

For a $171 id pay a girl in a bikini to follow me around and hold my barrel for me.
Man thats alot of money for .22 accessory, But what ever floats your boat. I don't mind putting that much into my optics as it gives me more for the buck, And id be just as happy with a $50 bi pod.

I cant wait to see who Gold plates their gun first on here.
I don't have much room to point fingers at people for buying stuff, I too have more in accessories than i paid for my gun also. Its fun!
But i just don't have bi-pod priorities like that.
