M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

Hey I cut them another .020 and now I'm duracoating then ill repolish the outer surface hope that gives me the depth I'm lookin for

Phil, what do you gain by having the red dot in between the carry handle (or rear sight) and front sight? I'm trying to decide between a carry handle and a red dot and I've seen a lot of people with both. Also, what rail covers are you using?

I usually don't have them in house more than a couple days I try and get them done on the first day and back out

The turn-around for threading my barrel was less than a day. The shop received it in the morning and shipped it back the same day. UPS, though, took a couple days on each end.

Note these are barrels, not firearms, so the cheapest shipping you can find is all you need including the Post Office.

basil, love the color scheme! how much $ was it for your add-ons and where did ya get 'em????

Or worse for some of us. Sent mine last Tues., UPS called me Wednesday and said it was lost. It magically ended up at Belt_fed's place anyhow :) Was done and shipped back lickety split, but apparently 24 inches (give or take a little) of snow is reason for UPS not to make deliveries :(

I really like the idea of 1-4x cuz I'd like the ability to co-witness at 1x. Is it a true 1x?
No its like 1.25x. You cannot co-witness irons through it. I have one on my centerfire AR. Been using it for a year or so now. You won't be able to co-wit through any powered scope. The good thing about this scope is that at 1x you can use it like a red dot for CQB and at longer ranges you can crank it up to four power. Which is enough zoom to engage targets at about 300-400m. How ever this hunting season i had a doe come out of some spuces at about 15yrds. I put the dot on her shoulder and missed low across the belly. Then it hit me! My rifle is sighted in at 100yrds. Of course i hit low at such a close range. I decided that was not going to happen again. So install a micro dot on the bias. I've run it at the range a little bit and it seems that it is a good setup. We'll see next year....

You have been busy with the mods. :D

You don't have to wait on warranty to expire on the Timney trigger. Just put the Timney in and in the event there is an issue with your rifle, put the OE trigger back in and take the Timney out.

Also, no problem with threading the barrel and putting a flash suppressor on (assuming it is legal where you are located). I had the threading done and a suppressor installed. Then my 15-22 extractor went AWOL and I had to return it to S&W. There was no problem with the repair at all from S&W.

Looking forward to a range report on your 15-22 soon.

Cool, thank you. What kind of foregrip is that that you have, Phil?

I've been using the angled fore grip (AFG) by Magpul for a month now, and I love it! Gives you a natural grip and its looks cool too!

Mine has a couple of thousand trouble free rounds through it. Have a Streamlight M3 tactical light, FireField 5mW green laser, and UTG railguards.

this is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine...

Ok guys, this is my first post. I've been lurking in this forum a while and have to say that I learned much about how this rifle works (or not) and accessories for it before even getting my hands on one! I knew how to disassemble it, clean it, do a trigger job and so many thing that when I made the decision to go and get one I knew exactly what I was getting into!

I wanted a rifle to use in competition (steel challange and even two gun) and it has been fun. I do have to say that I was getting plenty of FTFs but when it worked it was great to shoot. I lost my last match due to the rifle failing in the last two stages (seven total) and that's when I decided to send it back to S&W. I have to say that the rifle was there maybe two days, it took a little over a week to get there and back (this was just last week) and I got it with the new specs (blue springs) and two new magazines! I took it to the range yesterday for a quick test and shot 4 mags as fast as I could press the trigger and 100 round went down the pipe faster than I could say "S&W M&P15-22 Rifle" no issues what so ever. Then I fired 200 more round with new and old mags and 100% reliable!! so things are looking good so far.

Sorry about the long post but this is the first one and wanted to express my gratitude to all of you that have made comments on this rifle, good or bad!! you always learn from both sides of the story...

Anyways this is a picture thread and...this is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine...

Can anyone help me to pick a green laser that works? I bought a Barska Green laser with finger tip adjustable W/E knobs, but the damn thing would be bright one second and dim just after 3 seconds of use, like dim so much it was no brighter than a red laser during the day.
I'm looking at these Green Lasers:
Firefield 5mw Green laser
Beamshot GB800 Green Laser (They advertise this one as being Gov't Issued... Which I find hard to believe!)
Or NcStar's Red/Green Laser
