Not much to look at, but I'm happy with it. Love that bushnell trs-25 & dawson precision sights for the pistol!
Sorry guys, crappy cell pic and yes the guns are quite dirty since I just came from the range :p

Why back up sights if you have the red dot sight on the ACOG?

Why a vertical grip, mag well grip and a bipod?

I understand the multiple grip options as I will hold different parts of the rifle depending on what stance I'm in I suppose it's why some sniper rifles have a mono pod? More options-more versatility which can't be bad. What stock is that? I've seen them on here but not for sale anywhere?

It is the Magpul ACS stock.

I like to know why people do what they do. What is the reason for X piece of gear and what advantage it gives. The "why" helps people understand and maybe decide to do something as well if it will help them.

The pictures are titled Option 1, meaning there are possibly other options but the need for the MBUS is removed with the red dot back up on the ACOG. They are dead weight on that rifle. I can't see the ACOG's mounting system, but it looks like thumb screws. That means it isn't exactly quick release. (it does mean that you could possibly take it off in the "field" but for what reason if you have the red dot on it?) The mag grip is not needed if the vertical grip is that close in. The difference in grip position is minimal. What is that, about 2"? Either one is dead weight as well. (I'd say the mag well grip. Any position you shoot from with a mag well grip can be done with the VFG, especially if it is there.)

Yes it is someone else's choice to what they put on, being a free country and all, but if something is not needed, is it wrong to question why it is included? Wouldn't that also be participating in your free society?

I hope I didn't come across as being a *#*# that wasn't my intention and I apologize kbk if I did, all I wanted was to answer the "why" part from my own personal experience. I can see a use for having the multiple grips the vertical for standing, kneeling shots the bipod for prone or rested shots and the magwell grip for sitting or high angled shots but again that's how I hold my rifle in those stances and probably differs from others. As for the sighting setup I agree that unless the scope is qd the opens are obsolete especially with the red dot but they do look good and as the many of 15-22 owners on hear sporting fake cans and shrouds will tell you aesthetics are just as important because nobody want to be seen with an ugly gun.:)

Who's deciding what is needed?

and can't people put something on their rifle because they WANT it?

My M&P

Well here she is:

M&P15.jpg

M&P1522.jpg

Burris AR P.E.P.R. mount
BSA 6-24x40 Contender Scope
Cheap eBay Grip
UTG bipod

I like the longer scope so I can see where the holes are! LOL

Here is a target at 50 yds with 10 rounds of Wolf Match:

I was pleased with this for shooting on a bench using the bipod.

The only thing I have left to do is the trigger. Not sure which direction, but I have to do something?

This gun is cheap to shoot, but has caused a bigger problem. I now have bought a RRA ATH and it will be here on Tuesday! Guessing that it will be more expensive to play with! LOL

Well I finally got a pic of all my new guns together M&P 15-22, M&P Shield 9mm, Glock 23 .40 with Crimson Trace Laser Grips - the M&P 15TS being the newest addition...

I like your setup.

1 issue though. Your Eotech is on backwards.

I asked some questions. All I want to do is know the point behind your add ons. Like I have said there doesn't seem to be any thought in it. If there has been I'd like to know what it is, because it doesn't seem obvious to me. I would like to increase my knowledge base.

It DOES look like you've put all the cool guy gear on it. I was curious as to why. Otherwise it is just a collection of parts. Why is this a good picture of a firearm then?

Hey, if I offended you sorry, I just wanted to know why you did what you did. And taking up too many pages with pics? This topic is 66 pages long. Even if you do take up an entire page would it matter?

Gopher Slayer : the person putting the stuff on the rifle. I have some on mine that other's would also query, but I can justify what is there besides "I can do it if I want can't I?"
