M&P 15-22 Picture Thread

When you can, please let me know if you bought it like this or had it custom built. thanks.
Mac

I bought the rifle new in April this year, the firearms dealer had a number of MOE MP15-22's which he'd had the barrel cut down to 12". I added the handguard, flash hider, ambi controls etc myself.

Thanks. Very well done build! Cheers.

Plinker Tactical Charging Handle - Fantastic if you are left handed, which I am
Sightmark Ultra Dual Shot Pro Spec NV Sight QD w/Laser - Really great product for the money
Sightmark 3X Magnifier - more below
Tapco Intrafuse T6 Rubber Butt Pad - Nice quality, does the job.
MAX OFF SET Tactical Mount - Great Product
Letherman Serac S3 Flashlight -Brighter than my 3 D cell Mag-light
UTG D-Grip w/ Quick Release Deployable Bipod - Very Sturdy - all cast aluminum. Good "wow" factor
S&W 10 Round Short Mag (not shown)- Looks cool and great to keep in the bedroom drawer... just in case
Modified Butt Stock - Drilled a hole for hanging from a post in the closet. @ more smaller ones - looks cool
Changed Safety to Left Handed - needed
TactiCrayola - Works Great
Flip up BUIS - Cheap but they work, Co-witnessed with reflex sight
Castle Nut & MFT one Point Sling - Adds realism and function
Ergo Flat Panel Rail Covers (Clear Flat Lacquer Re-painted) - Poor Factory Finish

Since my previous upsate I added the Castle Nut, MFT One Point Sling (I showed how that's done in another post), and the Ergo Flat Panel Rail Covers. The Ergo Rail Covers are very heavy Duty Polymer, but they looked like cheap plastic from the factory. I got them here:

ERGO FLAT PANEL RAIL COVERS (2 PIECE SET)

It was the only place I was able to locate them without graphics. None the less, they looked like cheap plastic when I got them. So I wet sanded them smooth with 800 grit wet or dry sandpaper and sprayed them with multiple coats of Testors Clear Flat Lacquer.

Interestingly, the finish not only now looks fantastic but also EXACTLY matches the factory finish on the rifle. This lead me to believe that the rifle is clear flat lacquered at the factory to level the finish of the Polymer. Upon further inspection of the rifle, you can see that it is sprayed - and not a very good job at that. Down the road once it gets a few dings, I'll probably sand it out and re-spray it the same way.

Here's mine.

It's fairly standard with a Magpul AFG2 and CTR stock both in FDE.

Then I've got a Leupold 2x7 mounted in some weaver rings.

I'm kind of undecided about the scope to be honest.
Been considering a RDS?

CTR stock and MBUS sights came with as part of the MOE FDE System.
There is still a couple of little bits left that I want to get but that will depend on parts availability and whether they can be gotten this side of the pond...
I can only say this is the most fun I have had in a while shooting and building this thing up.
I have had some great advice from you guys on the forum and I could not have completed the build with out the help, advice and input from a couple of exceptional people on here (You guys know who you are!!!)
I now look forward to the shooting I will be doing on the 2000 Acres of land I have just been given permission to shoot.

Happy days!!! :D

Added a bit more

Since my last post I added the CAA UPG 16 Pistol Grip and the GRIPP Mag Tabs. The UPG 16 is great. I like the option of being able to customize the grip with the different supplied inserts. I have a set up that works perfectly for me. The GRIPP Mag Tabs do have some functional use, but I be lying if I said I didn't get them because they look cool.

So I have some pictures of mine floating around on here already, just thought I'd add them to the actual pic thread! It's still basically stock, as it's still fairly new, but I'll list what's to come, and keep you updated!

So far it only has Tacticrayola and a 3-9 scope which I don't keep mounted permanently.

To come:
Hogue grip
New hogue stock in OD.. (Anyone seen these yet? Look like magpul but IMO look much better!)
Magpul rail covers in alternate OD and black
4xAcog clone
Some kind of flip up sights (haven't decided which yet)
Thread adapter and flash hider (maybe eventually a barrel shroud!)
Maybe mag tabs

Hopefully I'll have some of these things coming up here soon and will post more pics when I do!

I very rarely comment on here. But that rifle is different looking and I freaking love it. Good job.

Thank you, it was very simple, I'm happy with how it turned out. I'll get some more pictures up shortly.

Getting closer to the final. :D

After a couple years of debating, I have finally uploaded a photo of one of my firearm to this forum.

Top-Duracoat Black with Blackhawk OD Green. NDZ Performance SBR; Model 1 5.5 inch Flash Hider; UTG Carry Handle; Mission First Tactical one-point sling mount.

Below:NcStar 6-24X50 scope; UTG Rail Mounted Flashlight (which works waay better than expected); Magpul AFG 2; RRA 2-Stage Trigger.

The rifle on top had almost 20k through it before the Duracoat. It is used and needed the refinish because I abused that S. O. B. in the bush hunting creatures.

The rifle on the bottom was used when a couple buddies and I played some Cricket; and was also used for small game when we had a varmint permit for his farm. With the CCI Velocitors it did some wicked damage and was very accurate . I am very aware of the flexing that occurs with the 15-22 with a bipod mounted, I was very careful not to put a lot of pressure on the end of the rifle so I would hit the target I was aiming for.
