Yeah I wouldnt use a 243 for plinking either..it would take me all day to load up enough ammo for an hour of shooting and no magazine dumps!!! I havent done a mag dump on my sport yet. dont want to waste the ammo!!!!

you can neck down a 35 rem. resized to 308 then resized to 257.
It's in an Arisaka short carbine, very nice gun. Custom barrel.

Well folks, seems as if you are in luck. Smith & Wesson released their AR10 (.308 or 7.62x51) at the shot show Jan 18th 2013. I was able to purchase one through gunbroker but haven't put it into action yet. My local range is under construction. Now if I can only fins some reasonable, non Russian corrosive ammo

p 10 in 308 in one of the gun rags for $1200. Now with the threat of a new gun ban I may want one too. I've been very happy with my new Russian Izmash Saigas in 223($259) and In 308win($289). The 308 Saiga with its 16" barrel gets 1 1/2" groups at 100yds using south african surplus 308 ball ammo. But I really don't have an ar at all yet but I'm interested in the s&w m/p 10 in 308.

Got 2 AR-15's and a 15-22 would love to add a AR10 to the family .308 nice longer range shooter. Watch some of the S.A. ammo read some old reviews about it from 2009. Don't know if all that ammo has dried up and newer stuff is out there or not. This was used in a bolt gun I think.

The LE Version SKU 311308, has one 20 round P MAG. I received mine last week, took it to the range and was impressed with the weapon. At 100 yards with a Nikon M 308 Nikoplex scope and M308 mount I achieved a 2 inch group after 10 rounds. Sweet performance with 168 Grain Winchester Match cartridges, could of used one of these years ago in the military. I recommend it if you have a FFL dealer that gives a LE discount on this SKU number. $1149.00 can't go wrong for that price, the discount bought the scope.
