Ok so I bought a M&P 40 for a guy and he had an apex polymer trigger that he had not installed yet. I went ahead and bought the apex competition kit for the gun as well thinking that the parts would go in the gun together. Once all of the parts were in I took it to my local gunsmith for him to put in for me.

I get a call from him telling me that the sear that came in the competition kit is not long enough to make the trigger work and that I need a longer trigger. I called Apex and they said everything should work fine the way it is. I put my gun smith on the phone with them and they tell him to bend the trigger loop back to get the sear to engage.

It does work by it seems that the sear doesnt engage untill the trigger is all the way back and sometimes it feels like there is a small delay in the trigger being all the way back and the gun firing. Now this is all while it is unloaded.

My gunsmith said that he ran two magazines through the gun and it functioned fine. Is this normal for the apex trigger to hit the back wall when dry firing and have a slight delay in the firing pin dropping.

I will try to get a video for yall

Do i just need to get the FSS sear

Depends on which trigger you have, they offer a polymer Action Enhancement Trigger, and a Forward Set Sear Trigger. You have to use the FSS trigger with the FSS, The AE trigger won't work with the FSS.
