For my qualifacation 300 is the best score attainable.
With my GLOCK i score 298
My FIRST time EVER shooting my M&P .40 I got a 296 she is a keeper as well
My 9C and 40C I scored 296 as well
M&P and GLOCK are my first choices...
I do have the desire for another 1911

None of which are actual facts. Everything is based on preference.
All my Glocks have Trijicons
I love the grip angle. I can naturally point it blind folded
Stippling is whatever. I'm fine with either
Stronger how? Glocks have PROVEN to be strong enough
Both triggers are fine
Accuracy? Maybe but I don't bench or shoot for groups. My Glock is accurate.
Superior how? Does it have decades of use and testing? That's superiority to me
Never overpaid for anything. None of my Glocks were over $400 and I don't get any discounts. G19 $350, G22 $295, G23 $325, G21 $350. Not hard to do and much cheaper than the MP2.0
FACTS. size, shape, weight. Those are facts. They can't be changed or have different feel to different people. Everything you listed is based on feeling.

Yes and no. 1911 is made by dozens of companies to varying degrees of quality and reliability. Glock is only made by Glock.
Then comes the era in which it was made. Originals had softer steel and only shot fmj. Although reliable for the time. Modern ones are usually made better but quality is all over the place.
Then there's the whole thing of the actual design. I posted it here but on another forum there's a thread on a 120k round TRP and all the work that went into keeping it running. Glock needs less than half of that

Biggest seller means nothing, and I doubt Glock sells more guns that all manufacturers combined. I personally buy what I want, what is best for me, and what I can afford. Every other BS marketing I thumb my nose at.

Some suggest that L.E. should be using guns with external safety, to help avoid accidentally blasting away civilians. Oh by the way, the M&P offers choice of external safety!

I'm not sure how an external safety would be any benefit once the gun comes out of the holster since it would be flicked off. And isn't the trigger pull on an M&P actually shorter and lighter than a Glock? Plus with a Glock, you can easily switch out the trigger spring with an NY module if you want a heavier trigger pull.

The problem is not the gun, BUT some guns should not be in the hands of those without the proper safety training. Since there is a problem there has to be a problem with the training. Since under stress a 12 pound trigger is not much I doubt that alone would alleviate the problem.

Compare the rates of unintentional discharges of revolvers and TDA autos with striker-fired pistols and I think you could make the argument that a heavier trigger pull makes a big difference in preventing them. Of course pull length figures in as well, but I believe the NYPD experienced an increase in unintentional discharges when they switched to the Glock which were remedied with the NY trigger spring module.

Certain incidents of high media attention has shown that some officers have a tendency to pull their guns, AND point them when not needed. One was the Dorner search, where some officers were clearly acting unsafely without justification. Another incident was the Boston Bombing, guns pointed at innocent people when it was clear they were not suspects. I believe the Aurora, CO bank robbery there were people also with guns pointed at them when it was clear they took no part in the robbery, including children. Any of these incidents were ND's waiting to happen.
There should be very strict rules as to when a gun is pulled from the holster. And even stricter rules when that gun is pointed at people.

Yep, PLUS, with the M&P you get the choice of an external safety.
As the article I just posted proves, a dozen accidental discharges PER MONTH for years shows the utter failure of Glock to respond to a real-world need. And that's just from ONE police department in ONE city.
People who hold up L.E. use as a reason to choose Glock are beating a dead horse (or should we say dead human). Do the math around the world, and you have start wondering how many people have died because of Glock's inability to understand this and respond to this. For thousands of officers and millions of citizens who live where they patrol, the M&P with external safety is definitely as you say, the "far superior firearm."

Doesn't have to be an anti gunner. A few folks here would be just fine if all modern gun and rifles were made illegal.
