Madonna at half time

Maybe next year they can get Roseanne Barr.

My wife and I were talking about her the other day, she seems to have just dried up and blown away after the disrespect doing the National Anthem.

It was quite a spectacle and she did well. Here in Indiana
alot of us had hoped for a Hoosier to perform. Not many
to chose from but John Mellencamp would have done a
good job. He's from Southern Indiana and still rocks it
pretty good.

she still skips pretty good for an old broad but seems kinda lame that Madonna is the best they could do for the halftime show of the biggest game of the year.

I saw the show...didn't think there was anything lame about it. One of the best half-time shows I can remember.

Wasn't much of a Madonna fan before, but I am now. :D

I went outside and smoked a good cigar during halftime.
I'm not into her, pop, choregraphed Michael Jackson elaborate productions.
I did however, stand for the singing of the National Anthem unlike most of the other patrons of the establishment I was in.

I noticed far too many ballplayers moving around during the Anthem, looking disinterested, can't anyone stand still for 1 minute?

I've never been a Madonna fan, but the show was very good.
She is very talented and the show had just enough sex appeal without going trashy.
I liked it.

She looks real good to an old man my age. I always liked her because she always pushed the envelope over the years. I love her song "take a bow".

Better than some..

A talking head on one of the more intellectual channels had opined that our love of football was analogous to the Romans and their games, but more "civilized" Whatever.. The Roman uniforms seemed fitting, All we needed was a "Hail Caesar" and have our illustrious leader appear surrounded by his Praetorian Guard, the Secret Service.. And dressed in a White Toga of course!! :)

That's because she was on a leash today. You might not care for her in concert. She's a great entertainer when she's not going over the top.

Whether you like her music or not, Madonna knows how to perform and put on a show. I thought the halftime spot was great.

I don't really care that much for her MTV videos, but she gained alot of respect from me after I watched the 1996 film adaptation of "Evita" by Andrew Lloyd Webber. She co-starred with Antonio Banderas.

Honestly, I thought it was one of the worst halftime shows in a Superbowl.

A couple of you have mentioned bringing back marching bands.

The DCI competition is THE NFL of drum and bugle corps. It happens over the summer. I've long thought that the winner over the summer should do halftime at the following calendar year's Super Bowl. They don't bill them as "musical athletes" for nothing. Many of my friends have done this (not me, I'm too old, they age you out at 22!) and it's 10-12 hours a day of marching and playing. The Cavaliers show last summer was my favorite...complete with upside down drummers (held by hooking onto another players shoulders while two others held the drums upside down for him) Anyway, they didn't even win...the fun starts at about 4:40 with the antics on the drum line. Xtraordinary was based musically on "Nature Boy" so they had jungle guard on stilts.

THAT is talent. THAT is what halftime is supposed to be.

Madonna is talented too, but ... i dunno. A pop or rock concert at halftime is just wrong. Much as I love them, it's just not right.

Then again, I live in a house that jokes a football game is a just a long opener for a marching band show. ;)
