Madonna at half time

When I saw the "slaves" dragging her in wearing her horns, I was again reminded of the "spiritual" overtones of most if not all of her work, albeit, of the darker variety. If you dig the darkness, then she's your gal.

I was to busy to watch the halftime show, I was emailing my buddy in California about the fact that I won the first two quarters in my company's football pool. Won the third quarter too! :D:D:D

Got some S&W mad money now.

A couple of you have mentioned bringing back marching bands.

The DCI competition is THE NFL of drum and bugle corps. It happens over the summer. I've long thought that the winner over the summer should do halftime at the following calendar year's Super Bowl. They don't bill them as "musical athletes" for nothing. Many of my friends have done this (not me, I'm too old, they age you out at 22!) and it's 10-12 hours a day of marching and playing. The Cavaliers show last summer was my favorite...complete with upside down drummers (held by hooking onto another players shoulders while two others held the drums upside down for him) Anyway, they didn't even win...the fun starts at about 4:40 with the antics on the drum line. Xtraordinary was based musically on "Nature Boy" so they had jungle guard on stilts.

THAT is talent. THAT is what halftime is supposed to be.

Madonna is talented too, but ... i dunno. A pop or rock concert at halftime is just wrong. Much as I love them, it's just not right.

Then again, I live in a house that jokes a football game is a just a long opener for a marching band show. ;)

DCI?????
Well I'll be doggone, mrs. Wrench.
I marched in the snare line in the Canton Bluecoats back in the pleistocene era. Haven't thought about DCI in literally decades. Good on ya, darlin'.

When I was about 10 years old, they thought Elvis was the devil.
She is a wonderful entertainer.

I never was a fan of hers, like several on here have said. But I think she has gotten much better looking with time. And I really liked her performance.

I'm 51 and i wouldn't mind going a couple rounds with her, but I'm sure she would kill me!:)

I have never been a fan of her's either,,,buttt she did a heck of a good job of looking sexy for her age, even though she is still younger than me.

While I'm not much of a fan (although I have liked two of her songs back in the day) isnt she abit old for this kind of stuff now?

sorry I guess I'm just getting too old for this kind of stuff anymore.

The purpose of the halftime show: everyone in the room gets to get up, empty bladder, refill glass, smoke if necessary, refill plate, razz others who are rooting for the losing team and not miss any of the actual game.

By that standard, she was fabulous. So were the black-eyed peas, the strolling bones, 500 skydiving Elvis look-alikes and whatever else gives me time for the above activities.

Half time seemed like the perfect time for the Marine Corps Band to play as a reminder of what we owe to the Armed Forces that provide a Land of the Free in which to have Superbowls. Instead we get an aging has been and her dancing queens. What a sad comment on our society.
