I just picked up a "new to me" 5906TSW. It's a police trade-in. Usual story...little wear on the outside, like new on the inside. Other than the night-sites being a little weak it's exactly what I was looking for.

It only came with one 15 round magazine. Any suggestions as to the best place to pick up a couple more?

Brownells had factory and MecGar magazines. I bought the MecGar blue mags. They hold one more round and you can't get better quality.

Look around for the Mecgar 17rd mags. Other than being blued, these are very good quality. Try (variously) Wideners, Midway, Natchez and CDNN to see who has the best price. A good price would be about 25 dollars.

If you want factory mags, you can get them directly from SW or from numerous other retailers. A good price would be about 30 bucks.

You can order them from S&W parts department also. Only use factory or MecGar.

Top Gun is excellent to deal with (very fast shipping).

Thanks for the suggestions.
The above is the option I went with.

Get 'em while you can.

I lost a high cap mag for my 5906 and contacted J&M sales in Topeka kansas and he was able to get a replacement for me

I just bought two ten round magazines for my 5906 but it seems the it is too short and will not latch. The 15 round ones fit fine. Can anyone help me?

CDNN......any 5900 series magazine will run in your gun. Most will suggest original S&W or Mec-Gar's.....they are right.
