I've done lots of rimfire shooting and in I've had the best all around accuracy with the Wolf Match ammo, has anyone tried this in the 15-22? or maybe some cci green tags? what do the 15/22's like the best? what types of groups are you getting at 50 yrds?

I'm gonna jump in here only to abate generic long replies not related to your question: Every gun will group differently with different ammo.

That being said its a great question, few people have posted high end scopes on there 15-22's with long term results, Im scope shopping 2-nite so I would like to know as well: What ammo groups best in "your" gun :)

I tried Wolf Match and CCI when I first got the rifle, and there was very little difference at 50 yards compared to Rem and Fed. At 100 yards there might be a great difference if this was a 100 yard rifle, but it isn't... at least mine isn't.

IMO, this rifle is well suited for short range 1x red dot. Those seeking 100yd superior accuracy with high power optics and $5+/50box Match ammo...well... bought the wrong rifle.

i possibly did then. i'm wanting a fun rifle to shoot that will also produce good groups at 50yds when shot from a bench with a high power scope.

I hear about a great 22 ammo to try but finding it to buy is another thing.

i have found and ordered ten different types of ammo i'm going to test at 50 yds. when i get my gun in and scoped. the ammo i got is:
1.Aguila Match Rifle - 3.99/50
2.Armscor Target Ammunition - 2.49/50
3.CCI Blazer - 2.89/50
4.Eley Sport - 2.89/50
5.Eley Target - 4.99/50
6.Federal Premium Gold Metal - 10.49/50
7.Fiocchi Exacta Rifle Super Match - 8.09/50
8.RWS Target Rifle - 6.99/50
9.SK Rifle Match - 6.99/50
10.Wolf Match Extra - 7.99/50

As soon as I get the rifle in and get a good day to shoot I will post extensive results and pictures of the performance.

Look forward to your range report.

If you ever come across CCI Green Tag, would also be interested in your results of that ammo.

At 50 yards most any rifle does well. Leaning on a post using a 1x red dot I can keep my 15-22 on a 2 inch target at 50 yards.

The 'fun factor' is this rifle's strong point... There is no rifle I have more fun with making cans and spent shotshell cases dance. However. if I want to drill very small holes in paper, the carbines stay in the safe. For the same $400-500 bucks you can get one heck of .22 target rifle.

got my ammo in today will post results as soon as possible

Im shooting winchester hv and getting 3/4 inch groups at 60 yards.

RWS

In my experience, the RWS is fantastic!
They have a bevy of match ammo for 50 & 100 meters and I have not found any .22 ammo that is as consistently accurate. Spendy, but if you are after tight groups, it's worth it.

I shoot CCI Minimags only. That's all I have ever fired in my 15-22. No reason to change.

Today at the range, using only my open sights, I shot 10-round 4" groups at 50 yards (bench rest). I'm trying to squeeze that as much as I can!

When I put my 3-9x42 scope on the handle, I'm shooting 2" groups at 100 yards (also bench rest). Trying to squeeze that, too, but it is a lot harder.....

So I don't feel like I bought the wrong rifle (as some say). :D

I compared 9 different rounds and had good results with PMC Sidewinder. All shots were fired at an interval of about 1-2 seconds at 25 yards using a Vortex Sparc red dot optic.

CCI sub sonic at 25 yards rested and Tasco 2.5-10 scope. This was on the first outing , have a bettter trigger now and will try to get some better groups soon. Black circle is a shootnc 1 inch I believe.

Hit the squirrel once or the tree 5 times

From my perspective, while the PMC had tighter groups, the CCI Velociters seem to be closer to the bull's eye more consistently.
