I ordered a 4046 from CDNN last week
Here is what came today

As you can see the gun came with everything a NIB S&W should come with. Theres a lock, user manual, NRA and warranty card. Theres also the fired brass case in the envelope. The envelope is dated 03-06-06 Yup my 4046 was made in 2006.

CDNN said that these 4046's were "new old stock". These were police guns that were locked in storage and never issued. There are no police markings on the gun, you would never know these were once LEO guns.

The one thing I feared was the DAO trigger. If you look around the net you read horror stories about how bad S&W DAO triggers are. Well I dry fired the 4046 today, and the trigger is really good for a self defense pistol(which is its intended use). THE DAO pull is better than the DA pull of my friends Sig 229, or my H&K P2000.

For the price($472 total) I think this is currently the best deal out there for a NIB gun. Especially since these are out of production.

was those in their newsletter? I get their flyer updates but did not see those. That is a nice gun and the smith and wesson 40 is the caliber to have in the 3rd gen weapons. Nice find.

CDNN sent out an email a few weeks back advertising the 4046

I'm on there mailing list get the weekend sale notice every week. But this must have slipped by me. Good snag there , well worth the money.

I like it a lot.

The fact that it is DAO actually makes me much more interested. I would pass if it was DA/SA.

Thanks for sharing!

I have a 4046 made 03/08/06, could be twins! Great guns!

I have two of um both are former service weapons one was a Tulsa PD and the other was Nevada pardon and parole weapon. That seems like a good price for NIB however I paid about 1/2 that for my two. No box no lock or the other little things but both had extra mags and shoot great. They are my favorite range time guns.

Does anyone know which agency the CDNN 4046's that were never issued came from? Were they Brink's Security or Milwaukee County Sheriff for example? I am aware that S&W continues to make 3rd Gens for large LEO contracts that still use them.

That is a great gun at a very nice price. People pay that or more for a gun and one or two magazines with no box, accessories, or anything else.

Shoot it and enjoy it.
