My recently acquired Model 10

That came out great, how much was it to reblue and ship back and forth ?
Thank you, it did turn out well. I found the invoice, it was done in 2018. It shows the re bluing was $220 and there is a $45 "PC Firearm Estimate & Range Test". I don't see anything about the shipping. I remember sending it via Fedex and having to send and receive at the Fedex location

Is that 3” barrel or just the camera/smartphone playing tricks on me ?
It certainly looks like a 3". My first thought was that it was a mod 13. I used to work for the UK importer back in the late 1970s, and in those days the mod 10 options were 2" and 4". The mod 13 was 3" and 4 ". But then I looked at the pic and you can see it's marked as .38spl. So, I consulted Mr. Google and found the model 10 3" was offered in the early 80s and discontinued 1990. Apparently there were also some produced specially for foreign orders.

I've got a 3" square butt M10-7. It's my favorite carry revolver.

My Model 10-6 revolver with S&W combat grips.

I gave it to my mom. I got it back after she died.

I never noticed that the top of the barrel has no rib, or that the diameter of the barrel is larger than that of the .357 Magnums, until I read it in this thread.

It was a police gun that I bought in about 1990. It came re-blued and with snow tires, but I later traded them out for the wooden grips.

This is my model 10 that I currently own, I have a new model 10 classic I bought just waiting to pickup from the FFL this week. I am curious how much does a re-bluing job cost, I'm leaning on the fence wither to get this one re-blued.

I would strongly urge you not to do that. You would be paying money to lower the value of the gun. It is only original once.

J&G had them at $400 so I pass.

If you have an option for Duty Weapon I suggest a S&W 686 loaded with 357 Magnum ammunition. Most of my time as a policeman we had revolvers. The 357 is impressive against bad guys.
I agree that if I were carrying for duty I'd probably carry a 586/686. Possibly even a 19.
