What other revolver sideplate would fit a 15-7?
would sideplates from a M10 or M14, or M19 fit in a 15-7? If so, what variation?
thanks

The revolver is at a local shop now.
The gunsmith there will try to look for a better fitting side plate.
Gunsmith will try to get a side plate for a late model 15, -6, -7, etc.

There is more description of this side plate in the firingline.com in the feedback section.
To sum up: The side plate is not a L-frame. It is a K frame side plate but must have come from another revolver. Bluing is not the same as the rest of the revolver. Yoke screw hole has been enlarge in an effort to to get the screw in.

Any K-frame sideplate since the 1950s could be made to work, it is a matter of fitting it to the frame. It will never be "right" though unless the gun is re-finished after fitting. Color and degree of polish will vary as well as the edge will likely be slightly higher or lower, enough for a sharp edge to be felt.

S&W can fix it for approx $300-$350 + shipping.
It is way more than what I want to spend on this revolver.

thanks for the info.

might have one

I just got some parts from a 15...if you give me the dimensions and such, I might have just what you need :)
