I've had this gun since the day I turned 21('98), and I've always maintained it, but this is the first time I've ever taken off the rear sights due to crud build up under it. Well....when I took it off, the springs flew out of the sides, and so did th two little detents that went into the ends of said springs.

I found the two springs that go into the sides of the rear sights, but I couldn't find the two little detents. I've tried to do a Google search, to no avail.

The sights are just the regular 3-dot sights...no nights. I was hoping someone could possibly help me locate some replacements. Fortunately, this is the only issue I've ever had out of this gun. I can't even recall how many rounds have been fired through her.

If I have to buy a new rear sight, that's no big deal. I was just hoping that I could locate some of these little buggers.

Thanks.

Is this is for the adjustable sights?
If so Brownells has them.
brownells.com
Part# 940-000-573 Sight Body Plunger $1.58
Part# 940-000-310 Sight Body Plunger Spring $1.58
I did the same thing and ordered the replacements from Brownells

The best place to find S&W parts is to call Smith & Wesson. They will ask about your model & serial number. It is best to find your part number first. Also, by going through S&W your parts are in stock, where if you go through midwayusa, for example, they have a few weeks lead time.

Thanks, and yes, it's the adjustable rear. I guess I didn't do a thorough enough search. I'll check with them.

The only reason I haven't checked with them is because I knew that they don't make that model anymore, and because I wasn't sure if the actual sights were S&W parts or another maufacturer's. I will check with them. Thanks.

Any suggestion as to finiding the part #. I don't have an owner's manual for this gun.

Edit: I'll assume the part #'s that dcbridgwater posted are the actual S&W part #'s. I'll figure it out.

Part# 940-000-573

Thanks for the help dcbridgwater and firebird. I found a schematic on Brownell's site, with the part #, so I'll probably give S&W a call first. I didn't even know about Brownell's.

No, those were not S&W's numbers. #'s follow:

101420000 Ejector plunger
062300000 E.P. spring
103260100 F/P S/L plunger
204840000 FPSL plunger spring

I think they still make the TSWs for law enforcement and they have a lifetime service warranty so they still have the parts, most often.

Does anyone know where I can find adjustable rear night sights to fit this model? I am shocked by the difficulty locating this info seeing as how so many departments have used this pistol!
