I recently received delivery of a new Summit Safe manufactured by Reed Custom Safes with which I am most pleased.
I am no expert on gun safes, but I did a lot of research before I decided which gun safe to buy. Summit sells an upscale high quality safe that competes favorably in quality with the best available, but at a lower price. They are not cheap, but very high quality. Beside things like being made of 7- gauge steel, I was impressed with the slide out gun racks, a convenience that makes a difference to me.
Just as important, in my view however, are the qualities of the people I experienced at Summit Safes. Summit is a smaller company and bent over backwards to provide me with a gun safe that I would be pleased with. It is rare to encounter a retail company with that degree of willingness to please customers and provide them with personal attention. They are not averse to trying to sell their safes, but I found that to take a clear second place to being honest straight shooters. That type of quality means a lot to me.
I bought the safe through The Safe Company in Garland, Texas where I found the people to be most knowledgeable, equally truthful, and highly principled as well.
I thought I would share this experience. It is good to hear about companies that do a good job and provide quality products with integrity. That was my experience with these companies.
For anyone who is interested, check out the specs at Summit's website: Summit Safes | Putting Steel Back Into Safes
