New wheelie in the safe! A pretty little 3" Model 36, has a SN of 695JXX.
From the info I have recently gleaned from this wonderful forum,
I am taking a confident guess the ship date was between 1971 and 1972.

The serial number 8J9450 is 1971 . . . consistent with being pinned. The '71-'72 "floating J" period is admittedly confusing.

Yup.

Gettin' that feelin' again, Macinaw!
If another J frame finds you; I'm sure you'll get that warm fuzzy feeling again!

Here are baby pictures.

A heavy barrel 36-1! Congrats. I'm still looking for one in really good shape for myself. If I ever find one, it'll be a shooter, but I still want it to look good. Yours looks really nice.

Constant drooling going on over here. About I acquired a MDL 60-3 (A Stainless J frame with a 3 inch and it has become my favorite weapon) I carried a straight Model 36 for many years. I'm not sure what it is about J frames, ya just sort of fall in love with them....
Best of luck with yours....

The Model 36 and 36-1 have the same cylinder and internals otherwise different barrel and frames....Love the miniature M&P look !

I too have a nice 3" 36-1 heavy barrel and they are a sweet little gun. I prefer them over the 2" and don't have any problem with cc because of the extra inch of barrel. Very accurate to. Your going to be very happy with yours too.

Great looking 36! I think that you need to put it on a diet though, the barrel is kind of FAT! My 36. 3" works out and has a skinny barrel. Bob

Proud poppa there, I can tell. Justifiably so.
I sure am proud, John. But I have to let you know, I'm Momma! Pistol Packin' and all. :D

Hey, steelslaver. I've found extra inches aren't a bad thing. ;)

LOL!!! Yeah, it's my midriff needs a bit of reducing. I love the HB 36's bit of extra heft.

Isis, I noticed in the picture the side plate appears to be a little high from the frame. That makes the gun unsafe to shoot and worthless. Please send it to me and I'll dispose of it properly. :D

Hey, M2MikeGolf ! Cool! But you hafta tell the truth now, you didn't really neeeeed a push, did you?! :D
Thanks for the volunteer to adopt, H Richard. I know you'd be an excellent Daddy.

Oh yeeees, dey gottsa hold on you.
Dey sneaks into your safe,
where it's nice and snuggy warm.
You know you have to let them,
Cause you're under that J-frame charm.
