Higher capacity than .380 version. Perhaps they are attempting to get more performance than a .380 in a thinner cartridge which would allow for more cartridges in the same sized grip.

Odds are always stacked against new handgun cartridges but I think the idea has merit.

Obviously this is all just a guess.

I imagine we will hear more at SHOT.

How many years before they expect ammunition to hit the shelves?

Manufacturers have been running 24/7 trying to meet demand for poplar calibers. Seems like poor timing for a new small bore cartridge.

We are a conservative group here on this forum.

75% of us just wish they would make more revolvers without the lock.

The use case for the equivalent of a .327mag designed for semiautomatics are guns the size of the Ruger LCP Max.

More rounds and more performance in the same sized package.

We live in the age, like it or not, where manufacturers are competing on how many bullets they can stuff in their guns.

This should, if I have it right, allow them to stuff more bullets in a small gun while exceeding performance of the .380.

Odds are against it gaining traction but it's a good idea. It has a chance.

I would not be surprised is Smith releases an LCP Max sized gun in this chambering soon.

I'm hoping S&W did research before making this pistol. Otherwise why would they make pistol chambered with twice more expensive ammo than 9mm.
On the other hand, when I looked at the specification... that might be a easiest shooter ever made:

- Chamber Length: 0 in
- Minimum Pull Length: 0 in



I'm guessing it's just typo.. but who knows?

I'd try one just for grins, but I don't feel like buying a Shield Eee Zee, or investing in an unobtainable caliber.
