Prayers for a complete recovery. And as Tom Petty sang, don't back down!

"I Won't Back Down"

Well, I won't back down
No, I won't back down
You can stand me up at the gates of hell
But I won't back down

No, I'll stand my ground
Won't be turned around
And I'll keep this world from draggin' me down
Gonna stand my ground
And I won't back down

(I won't back down) Hey, baby
There ain't no easy way out
(I won't back down) Hey, I
Will stand my ground
And I won't back down

Well, I know what's right
I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin' me around
But I'll stand my ground
And I won't back down

(I won't back down) Hey, baby
There ain't no easy way out
(I won't back down) Hey, I
Will stand my ground
(I won't back down) And I won't back down

(I won't back down) Hey, baby
There ain't no easy way out
(I won't back down) Hey, I
Won't back down

(I won't back down) Hey, baby
There ain't no easy way out
(I won't back down) Hey, I
Will stand my ground
(I won't back down) And I won't back down
(I won't back down) No, I won't back down

Kurusu, I am wishing you the best. In fact, I am expecting it for you. The more you consider your recovery an inevitability, the likelier you are to achieve that reality. This may sound like industrial duty happy talk New Age guff, but I consider it a defensible deduction based on personal observations of others in similar situations. You will win. Believe it.

You're certainly alone, as attested by others. I'm also a cancer survivor. Mine was a form of leukemia that chemo luckily took care of, and I'm cancer free for the past 11 years. Seems it runs in our family. My brother, a non-smoker, recently underwent tongue and neck lymph cancer treatment, and is in remission after surgery, chemo, and radiation treatments.. It's tough, I know. Hang in there. We're all pulling for you.
