Maybe someone on here can help me out with an odd-ball revolver I picked up.

I bought a batch of used M&P Hand Ejectors from my police distributor. Mostly Model 10s, Model 15s and Model 64s but a few Pre-Model Number M&P 38s and Combat Masterpieces. Some were pinned some were not. However there was ONE Stainless Steel revolver marked 10-8! A 10-8 in SS? Say What!

A few details about it are: Stainless Steel, looks like a Model 64; Non bevel cylinder latch; Firing pin on Hammer; Not pinned; Late series wood Magna Stocks; Serial is AYV****

If anyone has any information or theories about this piece; please share. Thank you.

According to the SCSW(3) the 10-8 was produced from 1977 till 1988 when the 10-9 came around.
The AYV serial places it somewhere in the latter half of 1987.
There were so many special runs of the Model 10 it takes 2 pages to list them and I am sure they missed a couple.
I was thinking nickel or chrome too but Yoda and Patriot beat me to it. :)

Yoda: Definitely not nickel. Patriot: I'll check into the hard chrome theory when I get a chance. I forgot about that possibility. Thanks.

Ok, I'm pretty sure I have enough clues to decide on an answer. No "V" on cylinder face, ejector "star" is matt blue, yoke stem is matt blue as well. All these led me to believe this revolver has been hard chromed. Thanks Patriot for reminding me of this possibility.
