OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

Wow, sounds like a real jerk-off move not to offer you at least one of the 555rnd boxes since they had just got over 3k rnds...

I scored another 300 rnds of .223 tonight at WM. And we even split up 3 cases between everyone that was there that wanted some.

Yea, no more being nice for me....When it shows up in stock I will be camped out 2 hours early at the sporting goods desk with friends right behind me..

I was at my local WM at 9pm. I cruise by the ammo (like I usually do) and I find 3 100 round boxes of federal 9mm sitting there in the case. I took 2 and left one. I checked the WM app and it showed out of stock. It shows that the App/website are not in sync with actual in-store stock so I wouldn't rely 100% on the their online inventory tracking.

Also saw 762x39 at the store. Checked my phone. "Not in stock" seems the app is working less and less

I the "W" was being fair, they would trickle out the ammo at different times of the day and give everyone a shot at some...I am a little taken back by some of the posters that say the have "10k + rounds" and don't feel guilty..wow. I have under 700 rounds and am just looking to get about 1k rounds that I can shoot in my local competitions over the next couple months. Come on people...a 10k stash is a bit overkill...get a hint.

I was told by the local "W" ammo clerk, that there is a line everyday with over a 100 people waiting @ 6 am...and most go home with zilch! He said he knows that most of the 1st people in line are buying it and reselling it online, but what can he do.

I mentioned before that i have 6000 rounds. Sounds like Alot but my girlfriend and i can shoot around 1500 a week. So do the math. Id run out by the end of June. Not everyone is like u. Some people shoot Alot, some people not so much

Ill tell you what Wal mart can do....

They can limit everyone to 1 box a day and at least what comes in will get spread out a little more....Dont get me wrong, I am as guilty as the next guy for getting 3 of whatever I can get my hands on but I have never cleaned the shelf off with someone standing right behind me wanting it....

Exactly!, I always ask everyone standing there what they are wanting to buy so that we can try and divide everything up between all of us... And from what I've experienced- when I do that usually more people are open to share versus the first guy buying up all the ammo in any certain caliber and leaving people behind them empty handed.

compshootfl..

There is no overkill if you shoot what you are buying, or buy it when available to help others. I have 10K rounds in my cabinet, but only because the weather hasn't been fit to shoot much in the last few months here in NC. You know as well as I do that 3-5 people shooting 22's can easily burn 1500 rounds on a Saturday afternoon in a matter of hours.

I have sold 20K rounds to friends and family in need (as well as about 6-7 forum members). I have been fortunate to have an early work schedule that allows me to go to WM early (no lines here yet) and get what I want when it is in stock. Does that make me a hoarder, possibly. But at least I am either shooting it myself, or selling it at my cost to others in need. If nothing else, that will hopefully frustrate the gougers and keep it off of Gunbroker.

Sonjason has sent me ammo at cost plus shipping. I'm very thankful for it. It's hard to find ammo here. We have three Wal-Mart's and each one is hit by people selling it on armslist or gunbroker. Occasionally I find 9mm and 762 and buy as much as I can

I was not aiming my comments on the truhful folks on here, I was merely making an observation...I can't even buy 1000 rounds...very frustrating to say the least and I refuse to pay the scammers on GB their outragous prices. I do shoot alot, unfortunately, if I can't even replace what I am shooting, then I am out of luck. I find it hard to believe that someone is shooting 10k rounds a month in the dead of winter, but oh well.

I just tried the WalMart app and have good news / bad news. Indeed, the 9mm was available just as the app showed even though the sales people didn't know it was on their truck. However, $21.50 for a box of 20 was to much for me!! I'll just continue trying to locate the necessary components and load my own. I'm afraid that just as pricing was used to control cigarette usage the same will happen to ammo. Thanks for the notice about the app; that seems to really work well

I can't wait til my local walmart stocks some .22 ammo. I have hit it up all this week since the app isn't working too well and no luck. I am really hoping tomorrow I will score. I scored 50 rounds at academy the other day but if I could get my hands on a value pack I would be happy. I did get 2 50 packs of federal .40 today though. I hope they don't stock Saturday as I work that morning :( I usually go right at 7am too

Edit: I have around 700 rounds of .22 but ideally I would like double that. and for my .40 I have 200 rounds and I am fine with that since I don't shoot it as much due to it being more expensive to shoot.

Anybody notice the WM app and website has crapped out over the last 2 weeks? Nothing shows in stock in any of the stores in my area and I've seen stuff at stores that wAsnt there but is now and still shows oos?

Well, after learning my lesson last night and watching two guys buy everything right in front of me I seen it show up at a store 30 miles from me this afternoon and called....

We don't have it they said....I said OK then lets say it would happen to be in then back, what time would you put it out?

He said 9:30 or 10....(Hmm yea right, I heard that before....)

So I went bee bopping in the store at 7:15 tonight and GUESS WHAT... They had already SOLD 8 boxes of the 555 Winchester ON THE PALLET and I got the last two and luckily two M22 boxes were still on the pallet....The guy didn't even know they were 22 till I pointed it out....

So I guess I finally scored...

You literally have to learn the quirks and mentality of the people working in sporting goods to catch some of this stuff...Every store is different and I can guarantee some workers are telling you one thing on the phone and doing another...

And the way we are bugging the **** out of them about ammo, I cant blame them.

Was at Walmart tonight for other items and took a walk past the empty ammo shelves.....but to my surprise federal .40 cal. There were 15 or so boxes. I picked up three and promptly checked my Walmart app, it said out of stock. Oh well guess I survive to shoot another weekend.

Had to share my walmart experience yesterday morning. A walmart over an hour away from me started showing 5 boxes of 100 winchester super speeds at about midnight the night before. I made the drive and was the very first person in line when the 7 am shift (which distributes ammo) came in. THe guy tells me they have no .22s. I say its odd that their site would just start showing it for no reason at midnight (it didn't show before that) and ask him to recheck. He disappears in back for 5 minutes, comes out and says he doesn't have any. I go get the store manager and she comes back and actually takes it pretty serious. She has the employee scan the shelf tag for that brand and size ammo, and sure enough, it shows them having 5 boxes. I tell her my suspicions are that some employee is holding out and/or has hidden them. She calls the employy to the side and I hear her say "if you know anything about these you need to tell me right now, this is serious" and the guy swears he doesn't. The manager then goes herself and searches for like 10 minutes....nothing. She apologizes and says she doesn't know whats going on. I give her my card with my phone number and ask her to keep an eye on the computer inventory because I suspect it will mysteriously show up as being sold later in the day. She says if it does she will find out who sold it and where they got it from. Well, this morning- sure enough- it was shown as "sold out". I called the manager to see what happened and she said it never showed up and they just cleared it out because people kept comming in looking for it. My suspicion is that whoever was hiding knew they couldn't sell it to their friend or themselves after all the attention being paid to it, so they either outright stole it or threw it away rather than having it show up as being sold. But of course its all speculation. It is possible it was just an honest inventory error, but it sure seems suspicious. A very similar incident happened 2 weeks ago and on the same day a local gun shop mysteriously came up with the exact same brand and box size that had unexplainable vanished from walmart and the gun shop was selling it for 4.5 times the walmart price. It was their first .22 in weeks.....the same day walmart "lost" the same ammo. I told the manager all this and she seemed interested, but who knows. Anyway, just a story i wanted to share.

How are you guys actually seeing how many boxes are in stock? Mine just shows In Stock, Out of Stock or Limited Stock

It does that with the Winchester white box 100 round value packs in my area.

You can even scan the upc code when they are on the shelf and it shows nothing....

I cant for the life of me figure out how walmart cant track sales of it like that.

We cant see the box count, I figured out that cases of WWB 100rd 9mm are 20 count, Cases of Winchester 555 are 10 count, and those M22 Winchesters like someone posted earlier are only 2 to a case, so when you see them listed as limited stock, that means they only have 2 1000 round boxes in the back to bring out.

What I have been doing is looking at the cases when they were unloading them off the pallet.

Seems to be a pattern developing with what shows up at what time at certain stores each week.

I noticed this week we are seeing a lot of TULA ammo that does not show up in inventory hitting the shelves also btw.

WM showing winchester 333 in stock. I will check first thing tomorrow. I hope they have something as so far this week they have had none.

When did it show up? I would call and see if its on the shelves right now...If it is there wont be any left in the morning.

If its still in the back then I would try getting them to bring it out. A couple stores in my area will do that but some wont. You have to go the extra mile to get it because I am telling you if you listen to them, and show up when they tell you to all you will see is empty shelves or people carrying it out of the store as you are going in lol.

;)
