OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

So it looks like something is a changin with the Wal Mart app in my area. Prices have went up slightly on several items and instead of showing In Stock everything has went to "inventory stock unavailable".

I guess thats the new term for "In Stock"? Or did they kill the ammo listings on the app?

Mines doing the same thing. I imagine its because too many people used it to hassle the employees and make them go to the back and look. Now they can say it doesn't show in stock.

It sucks because yesterday 555s came in and the New guy lied to my face about it and it showed up on armslist later in the night. Guess I have to call the manager again.

That means it's in stock. If it's out of stock, it says out of stock.

yea but it only shows that for ammo not other products from Walmart. so somethings going on now at least mine only shows local store again unless using full site. so IDK. Has anyone scored ammo from app lately? seemed to work good couple weeks ago but not now. :(

I just noticed that ammo is in stock one minute and out the next. My store had 5 different kinds that I usually check for, then 3, then 1, then none.

100 rounds boxes?

Yep, guy beat me by 2 minutes and got 3 of the 4 boxes at 1 store, at least I got 1 box. Then ran to another store and they are not putting out till 7AM tomorrow, then called another store and they had 8 boxes and two people were buying 6 as I was talking to the guy in sporting goods so I gave up and went home.

Mine has them too. They are in stock, then out, and are in stock at the moment.

The Walmarts around Denver are ridiculous. One store was showing 22 in stock, so my wife stopped on the way home from work. Sporting goods immediately says they don't have any. She says her phone is showing stock, he says that her phone is wrong. She goes to customer service and has them look up the UPC and they say they have 40 units in the back. She asks for the store manager who says they have them but won't sell them. She complained about clerk lying to her and manager says he doesn't care, then walks away. Talk about *******s. This same store always shows in stock for tons of ammo, and I think they just keep it in the back for employees to buy and resell.

I have noticed recently that some stores now show "Stock Information Unavailable" instead of just Out Of Stock.

Did they say when they would put it out? Mine does it at 6:30-7am.

"Stock Information Unavailable" isn't instead of Out Of Stock. It's instead of in stock. If it's out of stock, it says out of stock.

Ya I noticed that also yesterday. Must be something new.

As for the treatment from that WalMart... I think a call to HQ is in order.

Agree with the above. You can't help but notice most all WM employees that work sporting goods are quite quick tempered now. These are mostly part time workers who don't get benefits and don't really give a rats *** period! Store management is tired of dealing with this and most would probably prefer to not carry anything related to firearms.

Don't have a smart phone so no app. Web site just about useless for ammo these days. Walked by ammo counter around noon today at local WM, saw two 100 round boxes of Federal 9MM. Caught clerk before she left the area. Told her I wanted to purchase the two boxes. Sometimes fortune smiles on you.

Well, all you folks with your trained sporting goods clerks better come up with a Plan B.
Due to unforeseen circumstances (*cough* TheAffordableHealthCareAct *cough*)
WalMart is moving away from full time to more part time employees.

I hope that app and all the "in-stock" ammo threads become a long lost memory very soon. All the "it's not fair" or "It's too much work to find" or "they better xyz" comments lead me to believe there are a whole bunch more folks who got trophies for participating than I ever imagined ;)

I live in Charleston, SC. Walmart in this area is not a reliable source of ammo and I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. I suspect insider trading may also be an issue.

Saw "in Stock" on the Win 555's at a local WM. It was 8 pm and I figured that by the time I got there, it would be all gone so I didn't go. The next night ( last night) I checked the app again, sure enough "In Stock" at the same store. It was on my way to an errand I had to run so I went by. I asked the clerk behind the counter if he had .22 lr and he laughed and said he hadn't seen any in weeks. He said it was strange that the app showed it in the store as he thought the app was pretty accurate most of the time. He said they were unloading a truck as we spoke so he would go look. He came back and said, no ammo. Said he still thought it strange that the app was showing in stock. He began opening doors and drawers behind the counter and lo and behold, he comes up with 6 boxes from a locked drawer that he says is not supposed to be locked. He was
really angry that someone was hiding stock. He sold me my 3 boxes and
was on the way to see the manager as I left.

That is either an employee holding it for a buddy or for somebody that is tipping them so they can resell it for profit at a gun show or pawn shop.
