Last week, I saw an auction for an S serial number Model 29-2 6.5" on GB. Definitely not a minty gun, but a good honest shooter. I'd been looking for one, but most have been going for big money lately. The bid on this one was still pretty low, so I threw out a lowball bid that I was sure wasn't going to be enough to buy the gun.
Well, as the auction wound down, I was still the high bid... it got bid up to within $5 of my max, but never passed it...
USPS even delivered it to my dealer three days early!
Initial inspection reveals a gun that looks to have been carried a lot more than it was shot. It came from Idaho, so I'm guessing it was someone's bear gun. Speed loader cut Target stocks are obviously not original, but they're a nice pair. S3182xx s/n puts it ~1969.
I like a good, honest shooter that looks like it worked for a living, so I'm 100% pleased with the purchase, even if I didn't think it was going to happen...
Just had time for a couple of quick pics. I'll try to post more after I've had a chance to give it a good cleaning.
