I just scored another 3rd gen 10mm. This time it's a 1066. I got lucky and this one looks like it hasn't been fired too much. Price was great too.

It was fitted with a newer 3rd gen spur hammer and Hogue grips with the stock parts included in a bag. I put the factory grips back on, but I'm going to keep the spur hammer on for a while. Even though I like my guns stock, I do like the ability to cock this particular model.

FYI.. The Hogue plastic mainspring retainer on this pistol was starting to split at the mold seam. I think the grip panels would prevent a malfunction, but it's something to inspect anyway if you use these grips.

It's always a good weekend when you can bring another S&W home!

Sweeeeet! My 1066 has a polished slide that really sets it off from the frame and is my favorite 10mm and I have owned multiple examples of all of them save the elusive 1046. I shoot this one better than all the others that have passed through my hands. You will love this gun. Enjoy!

Great

Love the hammer :) I have had the 1066 on my to buy list for a while now, and can see that the hammer will have to be addd if i aquire one.
Great gun, and great find. If I may be so bold, how many $$$

The 1066 is a great gun and yours is very nice example. Depending on how you plan on carrying it and how you train with it the spurred hammer is a nice feature as well. Enjoy your 1066.

I replaced the hogue grips on my 4566 also. Now that you've pointed out the split spring holder, I'll have to check mine.

The frame on the right side above the backside of the mag button is polished a bit on this 1066. The left side was left alone and is still a bit sharp. Has anyone else noticed this sharp edge?

You mean that nice sharp corner above the mag release heading toward the back of the trigger guard? I have to tape my middle finger for those long training days to keep from getting it worn raw.
