Picked up one of the M64's I turned it to a round butt.

I just picked up this M64-3 and have run 75 some rounds through her.



seems to have been carried alot and seldom shot.
The lock-up and timing are very tight.
I think with the right reloads it should be a great property walking gun!

Chris, I picked up a 64-3 like yours, a couple of years ago, it is amazing how accurate it is.I hope yours shoots just as good.I know that you will enjoy it.

Turned it into a round butt. Took about 3 hours of filing and sanding. Took it down to the perfect size of the grips.




Feels and shoots great!

When I ordered this one I thought it was a round butt. It wasn't.

Besides just wanting a round butt gun, for the look I guess, what's the advantage over square?

Hello. Your revolver looks really good. Mine came from the factory in this configuration and it's become a REALLY favored shooter.

If you enjoy your round butt Model 64 even half as much as I have this one, I bet you will definitely consider the money and time well worth it.

GF, for me it points better and more natural. 'Sides, I always liked a nice round butt..

Photo, well I did use a table grinder very lightly to begin and kept the frame cool by dunking it in water after each pass. Then a file and then 400 to 600 wet/dry sandpaper.

I recently ordered a used Model 64 with a 4" barrel and round butt from JG Sales in Arizona. It hasn't arrived yet, and I don't know if it will have the heavy barrel contour.

Supposedly their guns are trade-ins from an armored car company.

I'm sorry - y'all have neat older 64s - even a homebrew round-butt - nice going! I apologize for adding a picture of a late version 64-8 with the two-piece barrel, MIM parts, and IL, and the added Ahrends non-f.g. square conversion cocobolo stock, but it's my only 64:

They are fun - great plinkers, if you recall the appropriate vertical displacement for your ammo and distance. Mine was bought as a security guard company's trade-in at a local store. It had never been issued - came with all papers, including the 'Club 1852' application, spent case, keys, lock, & box - $309 + s/t. I bought it as a house gun - it's almost too much fun to relegate to that.

In it's 'protection' duty, like today, it sports its Uncle Mike's squared Combats - great fit/feel - for rubber. Besides, my 696 wanted it's Ahrends back!
