Playoffs

Especially when their team is down by double digits and they block one pass.

I guess it comes from being told that they were "special" since they were about 8 years old.

Or maybe they have low self esteem and have to show everyone how great they are.

"Act like you've been here before." seems an appropriate phrase in those cases.

Usually don't watch sports, but kept hubby company watching all but the Buffalo game this weekend.
I understand there were roster changes that affected the teams, but it hardly seemed that these were well-oiled championship level warriors.
Except for the kickers, it was just amateur hour. Umpteen QB sacks, fumbles, and interceptions. The penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct and taunting seemed an outgrowth of the stupid prima donna hotdogging, ohh look at me show the players put on every time they did something right.
They should just do their job, and hold off on the hijinks until the victory party.

A nutshell write-up from ESPN that encapsulated the weekend very well:

"If you were lucky enough to plunk yourself down on a couch somewhere for the two days of the NFL divisional round, you're probably pretty thrilled with your decision. The four games we saw over the weekend delivered just about everything we could have asked for: three upsets, four close games, a dethroning in Nashville, a defensive battle in the snow at Lambeau, a near-comeback for the ages in Tampa from Tom Brady and an all-time classic between the Bills and Chiefs to wrap up things Sunday night.

I strongly suspect this was the best four-game divisional round we've ever seen, given that we saw three games decided by kicks on the final play before the Chiefs tied their game with a 48-yard field goal at the end of regulation and won in overtime."

There is much online debate today about playoff OT rules.

Who Dey!

Now if someone would please gorilla tape Tony Romo's mouth shut, the game would be less distracting.

If the Super Bowl is going to be like these play off's..........

I am going to need a Dr. & nurse at my side plus a pace maker !!

My heart is in permanent AFib and my pacemaker is fixed at 80 BPM.

During all four games I could tell that they were at odds with each other. I would floor the gas pedal but the governor would kick in. Odd sensation.

Admittedly the defenses were both amazing and horrible. How can 2 teams score 25 points in less than 2 minutes. That is nuts. Record sacks against the Bengals and they still win! Who woulda thunk it. Best weekend for football fans in a LONG time.

No comparison from the times of Broadway Joe to the clownish unprofessionalism of today.

Mary—I never thought I would live to see Joe Namath held up as a model of professionalism and decorum! I don't mind the young men showing out when the score. I think it was a mistake taking that element out of college football.

I told my son if he ever scoops and scores or get's a pick six, he better get flagged for his celebration. He is a huge stick in the mud so I am not too worried. The ref's are pretty lenient about it with the high school boys here too as long as it's genuine and not orchestrated.

I don't mind the celebrations for a blocked kick, a sack, an interception, a TD or a turnover. Those are big plays and should be celebrated. What turns my stomach is the back who gets 2.5 yds. on 2nd and 2 and feels the need to walk 10 yards farther downfield and signal the first down, make the "feed me gesture" and act like he's the only player in the world who could have gotten those two steps. I want to see your football prowess, not your ego.

I'm not a fan of the Packers or Tampa bay, but I like to watch Rodgers and Brady to their thing.

I think, Rodgers, got his team the win, but the blocked and missed field goal and blocked punt and touchdown did them in. Special teams.

I think Brady also got his team the win, but the last two plays with blown defensive coverage of Kupp and resulting touchdown also did them in.
