Reason I'm asking is, ive been sleeping on a slightly broken futon for 6 years not having a job for a tot of 14-due to disability caused by my brain. Anyway, as most know-I'm only working part time-so it's taken awhile to save (after getting out of a few thousands of dollars of debt) to buy a new bed. I did shop around awhile before I settled on a place that specializes in all things--beds, called: Mattress Firm-which I think is a nation-wide company.

Anyway, I'm on a budget--but went well over what I expected to spend on abed-almost double what I wanted to spend but-spent it anyway.

I bought one of those beds with that Temper-Pedic mattress but have never slept on one. Anyone here who has one-what's your opinion of them? I'm HOPING, that this bed-will be the beginning of the end-of my sleeping probs.

Anyway, sometime this afternoon, ill be getting one delivered to my domicile.

You are like me,, closing the barn door after the horse gets out,,, :D

I can not answer any mattress questions, but, will be watching for answers with interest,,,

The only perfect mattress I ever owned was a hand made one that we purchased neat Wilmington MA,,,

WOW,, that was perfection,, but, we replaced it after 15 years.

Ringo....I also stopped at M.F. a few months back..I was confused and just wanted to know why they had 3 stores side-by-side in my little home town...

Then I saw the prices........:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Told the store person that for that price I should be able to live in it and have home cooked meals delivered 7 nights a week.....

Figured out that having 3 stores all within 1/4 mile of each other must really add to their overhead....So then I went to Sears...Almost had a coronary at their prices......

Hope yours works well for you......and it's nice now that I can tell people I know rich folks....:D:D:D

Absolutely love mine. We got the adjustable bed(s) (two singles make a king) one on each side. When my back acts up I can raise either end to relieve pressure, although I sleep completely flat most often. The wife can leave hers propped up so she can watch TV all night long.

It's a very comfortable bed. I hope it never wears out. I've been sleeping on it about 3 years now. :D

Yes, I have one and they're terrific! Your gonna like it!

Can hardly wait.I just got a call from their warehouse-and they said I will have it about 4:30 this afternoon. The delivery fee is $50-so ill see if they'll set it up for me while I keep the kitten out of harms way. :D

Ditto here on the replies-and the now deceased futon-will not be missed. I'm keeping the mattress-for Sandy to shread-or sleep on. :D It'll be in the TV room-for on the rare occasion that I might have achance for an afternoon nap.

What size did you get,,
What model did you get,,,
and most important,,,,
How much $$$ was it?

It's a double-I bought the most expensive metal frame they offered-as it's stronger than the others I saw and will easily hold over 600-pounds-not that I'm expecting another body on it anytime soon. Sandy weighs at least a pound now-but is still is afraid to hop on the bed (futon) and the bed I bought-is as level high as my kitchen table is. I feel like I'm almost going to need a ladder to get on the thing. :D

I was originally just going to buy one for under $400-but found I had a it more that I thought in checking-so just happened to see a Mattress Firm-stopped by. The seller looked great in the dress she was wearing-so that helped sell me that double. All together-I'm spending with shipment costs-just under $700.

I know that may not sound like much but--I'm only part time and it's cut way back on what I had--but then again-my next check is in 2 days. :)

I stopped at a few other local places like--Roommates-but their stuff was all poor quality. The price was right-but vey poorly made junk. Another place that sells only junk was a place I think called: Rooms to go. I stopped for a quick look-see-and yep--confirmed-cheap quality. I tried Ashley-but higher-priced. I found a few other places, but by then was getting tired of looking around-so-one day after I left Barnes and Nobles-finishing lunch. I called the place up=found they were about 2 blocks away so-on the way going home-stopped by. Saw their prices were high, but also saw they had the best stuff ive seen from the several stores id already been to.

The lady who looked great in the dress-sold me before I even sat on a mattress to try one on for size. I didn't lay down-as I didn't want to dirty the mattress as I had sweated earlier from changing a flat tire on another ladies car-just before I had lunch.

Anyway, the lady said lay down-so I did and it did feel good the few moments I tried it. I was tired and forced myself to get up-or I threatened to take a nap. :-))

Anyway, I bought it then and there (about 3 weeks ago) but had such a messed up work schedule) that I couldn't figure out when I could be at home for delivery.

I'm "rich" in that I have lot's of Chocolate on hand.:p:D Just the day after Halloween, I bought 20 bags of chocolate (10 each of the Snickers Minis, and Reeses Peanutbutter Cups) for passing out to the ladies in my Dept==keeping them happy+ I earn hugs from most of them for 1-2 pieces I give them per day==:DPS--the bags at regular price was: $4:50??--on sale was .98 cents-so I took advantage of the sale and I almost bought 40 bags-but left some for others.

They said mine will last at least 10. Someone-a neighbor of mine I think? said your supposed to change mattresses every three years-but that's hogwash.

I got one for my wife about 8 years ago because of the two cracked vertebra, L2 & L3.
Best bed ever and yea we paid quite a bit but with no regrets!

Ive got a bad back due to a bad car wreck I had back in 93. I still have two cracked discs. I'm wondering if this bed will help some?

I have a king-size one - hopefully you got the version with the cooling material on top; otherwise that foam can get hot. I sweat too easily, so without a sheepskin or similar mattress pad, I find it to be merely OK. The mattress CAN take a set, especially if you are a "large" person, resulting in a rut or dip. You should have a 90-day try it type of deal, so see if it works for you. I prefer the inflatable Sleep Number so spouse and I can each have it as soft or hard as we find comfortable.

I'm not sure what a cooling material is? but mine is coming with a white-kind of puffy material. I'm also getting a bed-liner in a few days. It's not from M.F-as theirs start off at $50-and I don't need to pay that much for a good one. I'm getting one in case Sandy, (the kitten) decides to start sleeping on it and may have a "natural" accident on it. :D That way, I can wash it and not have problems.

We have had a queen Temper-Pedic for a long time, maybe 15 years? At the time we got it we tried both that and the one that has individual firmness run by a compressor. Wasn't sold on the compressor one even though the wife's law firm did the start up legal work for them. We liked the temper-pedic as it allowed one to get in and out of bed or toss around only minimally disturbing the other, e.g. me disturbing the wife!
In cold country it helps to have an electric blanket to prewarm the the bed as it seems to be a little harder when cold. Been happy with it over the years, so over a long term it isn't too bad but they were not cheap then, don't know if the price has come down much, since they are available in more stores now.
Seemed to support well and minimized joint pain.

Their competitors in the memory foam mattress business added a blue cool-gel top because the regular foam can get warm - great for cold climates, but rough when it is hot like where I live. You also do not "flip" these mattresses - at most you rotate top to bottom 180 degrees

I had a compressed lumbar disc removed decades ago, and the tempur-pedic has been a godsend for me. The one in my bedroom is 20 years old and still going strong. I'm so dependent on it that I had one custom sized for my motorhome. I rarely get a good night's sleep on any other mattress.

Serta Perfect Sleepers in Firm are the Ones Used in Most Hotels.

They advise instead of purchasing King Bed to purchase Twin Long Sets and Attach the Frames Like The Amish Did For Many Years.

We bought a Serta about 4 months ago. I think most all memory foam mattresses are the same but i could be wrong. Took a few weeks to get used to. We also have the king size adjustable. At $4000 it was on the low end. The bed my wife really wanted was $10,000!!
