For the second time in 4 years, the gun on an A-10 misfired, causing the loss of the cockpit canopy and several access panels, while rendering the landing gear inoperable.

The pilot, Captain Taylor Bye, recovered from suddenly flying in an open cockpit at 350 knots, and brought the craft in for a belly landing, sustaining minor damage. She was awarded this airmanship award for her skill.

I am sure she wasn’t planning on cruising in a convertible with the Top down.
I guess that why they train.

BWZ ,

This is a Snook.
Thank you. Yes, I found out from him after I posted.
He cracks me up because all his life he loved fishing. All through his teen years he worked fishing boats in Sheepshead Bay, but when he opened a restaurant, it was a steakhouse.

This is a picture I took of the Alamo with a film camera at night in the middle 1980s. No crowds, no background clutter. My single lens reflex Pentax camera was stabilized by resting it on a protective barrier, and I had to estimate the time exposure.

May the souls of Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, Col. William Travis and other brave souls rest in peace.

Sometimes out in the NM Boondocks,
You encounter a local.
It can be difficult to determine how friendly they are!

Mine was in the Arizona wilderness. We were camping and I had gotten up in the middle of the night to head to the restroom and walked into a Black Angus range bull that had come into camp looking for water.

I don't know which one of us was more frightened, but we headed in opposite directions.........

Den/Library almost done. yay!
Although, I built the bookcase myself, I opted to order the "missing" doors you don't see on the bottom cabinets, soon to be remedied as they're supposed to be delivered tomorrow.
The ladder was solid green when I bought it at an antique store, but it had the "character" I was looking for.
Lastly to do is the lighting for the inside of the shelves and I can wrap this project up.
The wife is enthralled about my new found hobby of collecting 18th and 19th century books too! yeah, lol?
Next project? I've got $3k worth of smooth cut red cedar covered with a tarp in my back yard to re-do my screened in porch.
What sucks is this same wood was $1k 2.5 months ago! Supply and demand baby.
This is what happens when your wife discovers, after 33 years, you've got carpenter skills you've been hiding, cursed. haha
