Random Object Photographs

Cannot remember if I posted these phone pics before or not. Both taken with the work phone, a Galaxy S10e. About a inch long fly on the side of my work van and a leaf footed bug laying eggs. Both cropped in phone and then run through Photoshop for a quick adjustment.

Dell Diamond without sod

attachment.php

Several years ago I was at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX - the home of the Round Rock Express minor league ball club - for a collegiate fundraiser in the "ballroom." Happened to be in-between sod removal and re-sodding the playing field. Other than still a bit too groomed it reminded me of all the bare soil fields I played on as a kid.

Ever sit on one on a hot day with no AC?

My grandmother had a 1960s Plymouth/Chrysler (can't remember the specific model) that was entirely painted steel, chrome, or shiny vinyl. In the Phoenix summers, there wasn't a square inch of that car you could touch with bare skin without getting 2nd degree burns... :p

My neighbors' trail-cam caught these two several nights in a row. ??? :D That's Ernie and Ethyl from just up the road. I told him he's going nuts. WE need to quit drinking his home-brew out on his deck at night. Everybody knows this is just Chewbacca and an Ewok friend looking for cookies.

Sent a bunch of stuff from my house in Japan to my home in Oregon, including the books in my living room bookcase. So, rearranging, brought down books and a coupla plane models from my upstairs study to my newly empty downstairs living room bookcase.

A Zero:

A Corsair:

I memory serves, I bought the models about 30 years ago via an ad in Smithsonian Magazine. Think they were made in the Phillipines.

My wife's a little dubious but so far is going along with it.

Time to post a few more images from my archive. I shot all of these in East TN around 45 years ago except the Dodge truck which was about 20 years ago. Hope you enjoy.

Over the decades after making these photos these places have been torn down and an ugly building has replaced it.
The country store, Greenways, still stands and is in good shape but long closed. It's only a few miles from my home and I drive by it often thinking about the great folks that owned and ran it and the wonderful people I met there. But times have changed.
