Random Object Photographs

One of a series of pics in The Guardian today on the reclaimed areas of the Ukraine.
As my gf is wont to say, "There will be many bis-cu-its for him in heaven"

While we are acutely aware of the human suffering in these conflicts, it's easy to forget that our other "best friends and companions" are affected as well.

A couple more pics from my gf's garden yesterday

I'd never heard of a "teddy bear sunflower". Nearly 10" diameter.

Nor a sweat bee. Generally considered a pest but she looks on them as pollinators. (And they have lots of opportunity in her garden.) The iridescence isn't as visible in this reduced pic (originally taken with a DSLR and macro lens). Also, the eyes appear to have horizontal stripes when seen in the right light and angle.

I went out with a film crew that we hired to produce proper riding
etiquette and promotional videos for the Paiute Trail here in
South Central Utah.

These pictures were taken up on the Tusher Mountains.

These three pictures are the mountain goats that we saw.
The first one was how far away they were from us and then the
best my camera could do zooming in on them.

Without a doubt it was a beautiful day and fall is here.

Here's one of my best friends catching the drone that the film
crew was using to follow us along as we were riding.

Retail cat

Got a nice surprise in one of our building supplies stores today. Apparently "Lucy" arrived with a contractor who was working on the store and she decided to stick around. Keeps the mice in check. All good unless someone needs a red bin lid:)

I really should have picked a cooler day for this.

I planted them around 2010 to block the view of the road behind my house. The new house built next to me put up a privacy fence, and my old neighbor always had one. I will too next Wednesday... as long as we don't get any of the storm that's brewing down south.

NOW!
The tree trimmer dude is going to pick them up in a day or so. I still have 2 stumps to cut out.

Old school transportation out here in the SW is the Caretta.
It’s a two wheeled cart usually pulled by Oxen.
Locally built almost entirely of wood, it features Wood Wheels turning on a Wood Axle.
Don’t the Boy Scouts start fire that way?
Yesterday I saw a four wheeled version.
It appears to be pretty much the same as the two wheeled ones, I take a double please!

Mom loves the look of the Bottlebrush. Too bad they won't grow up here.

I still have these 5. There's a privacy fence behind them now, and they grew about 3 foot since I took that picture.

Probably cut them down this winter because it's a pain to weed eat behind them with a fence 3 foot from them.
