Random Object Photographs

It was HorsExpo time in Sacramento again so figured I'd share a couple or so of my favorites. :) If anyone is interested in seeing more, I've got a ton on my page in the albums for Western States Horse Expo 2018 :p

Nice work! I looked at your albums, and you have some very nice photography posted there.

I myself have a rather eclectic on-line album, sponsored by Pentax, as I use their cameras exclusively. The pictures there have been voted on and approved by other Pentax users. It includes a number of firearms photos. If anyone is interested in browsing, it's here:

Thank you very much Paladin! I'm enjoying browsing your album too. Definitely some cool firearms in there as well as cars. :) Thank you for sharing it!

Mt. St. Helens 38 Years Later

I made my annual trek to the crater today. It was so foggy when I got there it was invisible. So, I went fishing at Coldwater Lake and caught one little rainbow (not a keeper). While I was fishing, the clouds parted, and it got pretty nice, so I got some decent shots.

The lake in the photo is Castle Lake, and, just like Coldwater Lake, was formed after the eruption.

Well, my family has enjoyed a nice relatively secluded property in the Belknap mountains of NH since I was a child. The only other 2 times I have seen a Luna Moth were under more predictable conditions - on the side of the cedar cabin, beneath an exterior deck light, in latish spring, at or past dusk.
THIS one, I discovered in a solidly bricked ALLEY, where I duck out to crank cigarettes, while at work. In a small city, but a CITY nonetheless, smack in downtown of Portsmouth NH. It was an odd surprise.

Thanks for observing:

It was dying. Of course. It died right there in place. Stuck on the brick.48 hours later, still there. Then it eventually fell off. I showed a bunch of millenials, if they were curious or cared or Even knew what I was asking if they had ever seen....

Beautiful..I only ever saw one about 35 years ago on Long Island in NY State.. Where did you see this one?

I was in my deer blind, hunting pigs, and I hear something over my left shoulder. Looked down and he was 6 feet away from me. I hissed at him and he could have cared less. Sniffed the area and moved on. No pigs were harmed today, damnit!
