I like the hawk and bear photos! Just curious...are the bears just sort of passing through, or is there something in the yard that attracts them?

The bird feeders/seed are attracting the bears. Now we take them down after hibernation ends. The big one in the photo is smelling the plant we replaced the feeder with. The big boy got in the garbage last fall and walked up on our deck up to the glass slider until the dog scared him off. This is the tagged smaller bear caught in the act.

Actually, when I wuz a youngin we were too poor to afford a dog but pa told me I could have the fox if I could tame him.

Was out walking the dogs this morning around the track at our little park here. Saw something very large with a white tail land on the power tower. I assumed it was a bald eagle. Went back to the house, dropped the dogs off, grabbed my camera and drove back. I was hoping it was still there, and it was. Definitely a major addition to the birds we have seen here in our tiny city between Houston and Sugar Land.
