Random Object Photographs

Divine Intervention

While not exactly a "Random Object", this might be new to a few of you. It is a small statue of Saint Joseph, expressly created to be helpful in selling your home.

Tradition holds that a prayer is said over the statue, then it is buried upside down, facing the home, in the dirt outside the home. When the home is sold, you take him with you.

We buried this one yesterday, after my MIL's realtor listed her home for sale.

Anemic Jeep gone! Had my BFG's and wheels put on and I must admit, it handles better than it ever did with the 15". No notable difference in gearing either, still gets up as fast as it ever did and still have 5th. Very impressed and happy.

A few years back I made a trip with Mom back to Corpus Christi, where I lived during most of my formative years. We were visiting my aunt and dropping by some of the coastal parks to do some birding. It was a cold morning by south Texas coastal standards, about 40 degrees. I spotted a family of Inca doves in a tree and the youngsters were huddled up against their mother for warmth. Later that morning at another location I spotted the Lexington across the bay from us. The 400mm lens on my Canon DSLR got me close enough that after some Photoshop cropping and work I ended up with a halfway decent pic.

We wanted a "therapy pet" for our kids this past summer...long story for another thread. Talked to them about what we could have...and overwhelmingly, they decided on a dog, but Mom was not all that thrilled with the prospect of a dog. The family went to visit some friends out of state for a few days. They came back with a small, furry, animal...
