June 19, 5 pm. 54º & rainy. Near-coastal BC in the PNW.
This is ridiculous. There's been snow on some of the higher-altitude highways. (Good news for firefighters, though, who are already very busy up here.)

Nonetheless, the cat & I are not amused.

Send some of that coolness down here. 111 yesterday. 112 today, similar in the forecast all week.
LOL (ugh!) It's finally warming up to normal this week: 79-80º predicted, so hope the cool stuff wandered down your way.

When it gets into the mid-80's + I'll be firing up my earth tube cooling system to keep it comfy inside. Trenched in 120' of 6" PVC pipe last summer, with a fan bringing the air up the central staircase into the main room, where I have a big ceiling fan. Worked pretty well, generally keeping it about 8-10º cooler in the house, which is small and open-plan. This week I'm putting an exhaust fan into the loft bedroom to pull warm air out.

Not quite as effective as a whole-house AC but it only draws about 200W :)

This is a shot I took of Allen street, the main drag in Tombstone, Arizona. The OK corral still exists.

This is the old City Hall in Tombstone. Looks pretty much the same as it did in Wyatt Earp's time.

And this is the old Cochise County courthouse in Tombstone. My maternal grandfather served on juries there.

The old gallows west of the courthouse still stand if needed.

The old Boot Hill graveyard is just north of Tombstone.
