Rittenhouse found not guilty on all counts

I wonder if he had it to do over again , would he make the same decision ?

Rittenhouse's lawyer says
he does regret going into
Kenosha to defend it.

I believe the youth became
a target of opportunity,
his carrying a gun, his youth.
Some thought it'd be easy
to take the gun after taunting
him.

I think the prez — who is a progressive, after all — showed the right attitude to take for those who are unhappy with the verdict. His position is the jury's decision must be respected.

In a statement later Friday afternoon, Biden acknowledged that the verdict in the trial "will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included." He said that everyone "must acknowledge that the jury has spoken."

"Look, I stand by what the jury has concluded," he said. "The jury system works, and we have to abide by it."

Biden reacts to Rittenhouse verdict: 'The jury system works, and we have to abide by it' - CNNPolitics

Let's try to confine our comments to the Rittenhouse verdict, and reactions to it, only. Otherwise we will surely run afoul of the forum's ban on political discussion.

In the interest of accuracy, the second quote was what he said first. The first quote comes from the written statement released later. It was a partial walk-back.

What's scary is the wide open social media sites are on fire about this. The Internet Warriors are resorting to vile name calling and threats. It doesn’t bode well for the future

I have been pointing out ad nauseum on social media that it was that jury, those individuals, who sat in that courtroom day after day...heard the testimony...watched the videos...saw the evidence...and listened to the legal arguments. They then deliberated for 25 hours...it was clear that they didn't rush to judgment...and reached a unanimous verdict.

This is exactly how our system is supposed to work, and just because some folks are unhappy about the verdict, doesn't mean justice wasn't done.

Regarding the days leading
up to the trial, at least one
morning show host was
talking very vehemently
against Rittenhouse. I
could only think the host's
next words were going to
be, "We've got the rope.
Who needs a trial?"

Listening to the news coverage of the trial, I'm convinced the word "rifle" has been erased from our lexicon...all we heard, over and over again, was "AR15" or "assault weapon". One commentator, a law professor - !!! - actually used the phrase "big scary gun"...

You'd almost think they have an agenda, wouldn't you?

FWIW, I know that the ends aren't supposed to justify the means but the reality on the ground here was that the crowds of mostly peaceful rioters were a fraction of what they had been before Rittenhouse did his thing.

My only comment is that I hope that kid has some sane and intelligent adults in his life going forward who can keep him out of trouble. So far I’d say he’s been a gullible patsy..

Not sure where the adults ,in his life, were when he crossed state lines ending up carrying an AR in the middle of an out of control protests.

Some of the scheduled Monday airing
of an interview with Rittenhouse
was released Sunday.

How many 18 year olds can keep their mouths shut?
The odds are vastly against him doing so.

With all due respect I never said I was going out to have a beer with this guy.

I just said from what I have read he was not a convicted felon. Which he isn't if it has been expunged.

If you were on the wrong end of an alleged crime or a suspect in a crime or even a victim (and I said from the beginning this was self defense) and someone was putting out misinformation or incorrect information would you want it corrected?

Or would it only depend on if it fit an agenda or not?

The facts are the facts and while I am sure my "LIKES" will suffer as a result it is what it is.

And in the matter of who your daughter dates I really don't believe that is any of my business. :)

So now he’s a “ formerly convicted felon “?
I think that is the more accurate description.

It would be very interesting what happens to the rest
of the Bad Actors that were caught on camera there
looting, burning, and should have not been there
either.

I hope there are more Trials on Thugs that were there,
but unfortunately they will not be Publicized like this one.

There will be few, if any, prosecutions.

What distresses me about what I'm seeing online is this insistence that Rittenhouse somehow "got away" with something, and that the "fight for justice" will continue...

As I have stated many times here on the Forum, I don't think he should have been there...but a jury heard the testimony, reviewed the evidence, deliberated for 25 hours, and found him not guilty. People have to respect that...being upset at a verdict doesn't mean said verdict was unfair...

If the police had been allowed to do their jobs no one would know who Kyle Rittenhouse is.
And it is also possible the two guys that were killed would likely still be alive as well, and able to attend the next riot.

I really wish someone could explain what a state border has to do with any of the events.

The pillage supporters would have been just as outraged for crossing a street to get there.

It has absolutely nothing to do with anything but I guess it sounds bad. He lived a few miles away.

It wasn’t a federal prosecution so the whole state line thing is just smoke.
