Rittenhouse found not guilty on all counts

Tonight? Young Mr. Rittenhouse has a long life ahead of him, and it's going be a long, long time before he'll be able to live a normal life (if ever).

He took two lives, and while a jury has ruled he didn't break the law, the stigma associated with that act will haunt him. Notoriety is about to become his constant companion...

Beats being dead.

The kid has a long hard road ahead for himself. He will be looking over his shoulder for some time to come. Great outcome for 2A supporters and an excuse for those who don't need one to misbehave. Be aware of your surroundings for awhile.

There will be lawsuits. There are always lawsuits.

I’ve not found that to be the case, despite the claims of people selling CCW insurance.

I worked several cases where a shooter was not charged due to a claim of self-defense. Some of those claims were very shaky, and I felt the person should have been charged. The lawyers who had to try it disagreed, and its their sandbox.

If there was a civil suit, I would have certainly been contacted by one side or the other. God knows I got plenty of calls for other (non-murdery) suits. But nobody ever called me.

I've not closely kept up with this case, but did any of the rioters, pillagers, arsonist, robbers or thugs get charged with anything in Kenosha, Wisconsin during the time period in question?

Actually, yes, as many as 250 arrests by local, state
and federal authorities including two who
were indicted for arson. Stories are available
on internet if you care.

Yea for Justice, this case should never have been brought to trial, at least not on a murder 1 charge! Those men were pursuing Rittenhouse with intent to seriously harm, or kill that kid.

I’m happy that he can put the criminal charges behind him. My heart goes out to him, and to the families of the people killed. Hopefully Rittenhouse will get through the civil charges in good shape, too... Then, he’ll have the rest of his life to deal with the trauma of taking those lives. Justified, or not, it’s an awful thing to have to live with.

Hopefully he can take solace in knowing that the two people that he killed, crazed lunitic/convicted pedophile, and a convicted abuser of women, are no longer around to harm those that are vulnerable. And the other convicted criminal abuser, with the blown off bicep may even think twice before trying harm others in the future.

Trying to call those pieces of human excrement ‘victims’ is truly an insult to all victims of violence and injustice. Those prosecutors should lose their law licenses for the lies and violations inflicted to Rittenhouse, and yes, the media outlets should be sued. Undoubtedly, they will simply double down on their efforts to try to undermine this country, and our civil rights. Scary times, our country, and our liberties are under attack, and it won’t stop with this verdict.

Good verdict.. Outrageous prosecutor.
I spent 10 years as a public defender and never saw a prosecution this bad.
Did anyone else notice that rifle had no sights on it?

I noticed that also. We should all chip in a dollar each and buy him some Troy Battle Sights...

Have heard that the wounded person was a felon in possession of a firearm. Anyone know if this is true, and if so has anyone attempted to prosecute him?

Yes he was, and of course they won’t...

My understanding is that he had offenses ranging from DUIs (one with possession loaded firearm while intoxicated), smashing his girlfriend’s window and threatening her, a felony burglary charge, and one from assaulting his grandmother (nice guy, huh...). Oh, and he has a sealed juvenile record.

Apparently, not an upstanding citizen, but I’m sure the media can help with his image/reputation. He’ll soon have some public squares named after him, and perhaps a statue/monument.

He should be extremely thankful that’s he still among the living...

Lets hope not.

The jury has spoken.

I bet there will be no civil rights charges. He wasn’t operating under the color of law.

There may be a civil suit, but I doubt there will be a significant settlement.

There's no obvious government exposure, so civil rights litigation seems unlikely.

I'll respectfully disagree on a tort - recall that it took 3.5 days to get to acquittal of the criminal charge. Even separate tort litigation costs (3 cases) could easily run half a million over the next few years.

They took the optic off for the trial.

During the night of the shootings it looks like he had a Sightmark Ultra Shot on the thing. There are other pictures of him with the rife with what looks like an even less expensive Pinty red dot on it.

More importantly, I have no idea what the prosecutor was trying to do.

When you hear the term Elections Have Consequences a high profile trial like this is a reminder that the judges and prosecutors are a trickle down effect of it whether they're elected or appointed to carry out the laws made by We The People choices at the ballot box.
When you stay home they get in.

I fear that the government will try to elevate the case to federal level and try him in federal court. They'll make up charges as needed, but whatever it takes to continue the rioting and racial hatred. Sooner or later, things are going to get bloody ugly. Thank goodness I live in a civilized area.

Don't cross state lines with a weapon to perform cop work unless you are a cop and actually have to.

Just as a point of order, although Rittenhouse apparently lived "across state lines" (about a 15 minute drive), he worked in Kenosha. I think he was there that night because he believed it was his community, regardless of where the line on the map fell.

The idea that he "traveled" to take advantage of the situation was entirely a media construct.
