Rumor has it that by next year Dr. Pepper will no longer be made?!?!

It's a hoax perp'd by idiots who get all their news from social media. I've sworn off soda but once in a great very great while I'll pick up an icy cold Mexican Coke in a 16 oz. glass bottle made with real sugar and no HFCS. When you only drink one every few months there is nothing as refreshing. I can suck it down in about 3 big swigs.
Those of a certain age may remember a Dr. Pepper ad suggesting it warm in a teacup with a slice of lemon.

As long as it isn't "Fresca" being eliminated, this household is safe. :) It's the good wife's absolute number one favorite drink and I've even gotten used to the weird, offbeat taste. It doesn't even make me sick anymore! :p

Didja hear about the Aggie who drank 89 bottles of Fresca in one sitting? (BTW, I always liked Fresca myself!) Oh yeah, that Aggie snowed in his britches! (Remember the TV commercials where the snow was falling in the background while they talked about how cool and refreshing the drink was? That was a long time ago when this commercial aired, so you might have to be of a "certain age" to remember it!)

I would tell all about the dude who ate way too many Moon Pies.
But- this ain't no Moon Pie thread!
I'll hold off til somebody starts a Moon Pie thread.
Yes, I have drunk Dr P. Just not in this century!

Diet DR. pepper is the only diet soda that doesn't taste like diet pop. Not that it's good for you or anything, but it's the only soda I drink, except for the occasional Jarritos Tamarindo or Blenheim Hot Ginger Ale.

The thing with the clock at four-twenty has a vaguely illicit ring to it, not unlike a twenty dollar bill wrapped around a Bic lighter to crush aspirin for your motorcycle battery.

Surely they are not going to quit making Dr Pepper. Maybe prune juice got too expensive so its a matter of economics I guess. My Granny always told me Dr Pepper had prune juice in it. I don't see it listed on the label but that's what my Granny said when I was young and she never told me a story.:D

Diet Dr Pepper Cherry is the only way to go. Hy Vee always runs out of it first. They never run out of coke or pepsi.

Once they did away with orange NiHi and spanish peanut dispensers in gas stations I lost all interest.

I'm diabetic and quit drinking regular pop since I was diagnosed. I cut way back on diet pop, as well, but outside of a restaurant where they usually don't have it, I usually buy Diet Dr. Pepper and Diet Sunkist orange soda.

When I was a kid 50 or 60 years ago, Dr. Pepper was different and better. It had a much fruitier flavor, with maybe a bit of cherry to it. The switch from cane sugar to corn syrup probably changed the flavor, too.

I am glad my drinking water is great from the tap. Doubtlessly healthier than any pop.

Probably about the time that I had my first Dr Pepper. The barbershop where I started getting my hair cut when I was a little kid, early 50s, had a soda cooler. It was the only place in town (that we knew of) that had Dr Pepper. I had a bottle every time dad took me with him to get our hair cut. That was a special treat, since we couldn't find it anywhere else, and only got haircuts every other week!!

I still find RC from time to time in Smart and Final. Man, it's good!

Found a Moon Pie in my lunch box today.
No Royal Crown but there was a peach.
Washed them down with Mrs. N.'s sweet tea.

Now I think about it the combo could have tasted like Doc Pepper.
It was fine.

I can remember year ago when DP had an almost "peppery" bite for a finish that made it more refreshing than cola. Seems to have gotten sweeter over the years since then. It's more like a cherry coke these days. I see they have Cheery Pepsi these days so that could be the planned replacement.

Chevy vs GMC

Long ago, I listened to two older gents ( about my age now, I 'spect) talking at the auto parts store. One remarked that he preferred GMC pickups to Chevy because they put better engines in them.
That's probably the type of conversation you overheard.:D

Actually at one time they had different engines in them.

There are plenty of less popular sodas that are still around. I call BOLONEY.

I don't drink soda except for a rare occasion.
7UP is good for an upset stomach and I drink a Squirt two times a year.

Long ago GMC and Chevy had different engines. Its only been the mid 70s early 80s that they have the same engines.

I haven't drank a soda in over 10 years. heck I don't even drink coffee. Only water and orange juice.

As long as I have coffee/ice tea & water I'll get by.......I drink very few carbonated drinks
.....BTW What happened to Buffalo Rock Ginger ale?

Buffalo Rock ginger ale is made in Birmingham, Alabama. You can get it all over 'Bama.

I have bought RC Cola in Southwest Virginia in the last 30 days.

Doggone it, Ringo, I don't even drink soft drinks any more, and haven't had a Dr. Pepper for twenty years, but you got me thinking about it, and as I posted above, I liked it when I was a kid, so just a little while ago I had to go out, and I stopped and bought a bottle of the stuff. Says it's made under the authority of the Dr. Pepper Company in Plano, TEXAS!!! Heck, with those credentials, it ain't going anywhere.

I agree with the posters who said that it don't seem to tease the same. Or maybe my taste buds are giving out.

Oh well....

Best Regards, Les
