S&W 49

Hi, I just got a call from my dealer today. He told me that S&W is about to reintroduce the 49 in 38 special no lock. Can anyone confirm? I have a hard time believing this.

Anything is possible but I sure haven't seen anything about it. Of course I haven't looked either. If it becomes available in CA I would be interested.

I haven't heard anything from the snubnose aficionados, but almost no S&W revolver is completely dead so long as a distributor (or distributors) orders 1,000+ of them (and possibly not even that many).

I EDC a 49 no dash. For the last 14 years I find this gun is everything I need for two and four legged pest control. If the new model matches the quality of the original, it will be worth the price.
